Deposit checks at home?

Has anyone used this?

Looks so fucking sweet, that would be so amazing if I didn't have to bother going to the bank/atm to deposit stuff. Hell, I would officially never have to leave the house then.

Input info, scan the check and it's good to go :)

I Love Usaa, great bank, good service, good lines on there cc's :)

It sure is Escort. I have no doubt that the bigger bank chains like Bofa, Citi, Chase, US Banks, etc will follow Usaa's Deposit at Home Service soon enough.

do you need to be in the army to use them?

aico 02-15-2007 04:08 PM

I use USAA, works great. The reason, though, why they have this is because they don't actually have any bank branches or ATMs to make deposits at. You used to have to send in deposits. Then for a short period of time last year you could drop them off for free at UPS Stores, then that stopped, so now they have the scan in method.

All checks are is a piece of paper with information, you can legally write a check on a watermelon if you wanted, but of course no one woud accept it.

well banks already send each other copies to clear checks, so its not too far fetched before they do it.

So lets see what you can do from home now that you couldnt years ago:

Have food delievered (amazon.com just joined the many who deliver grocery products)

Fruit - FreshDirect.com the most famous one

Movies - No need to walk to blockbuster you got netflix, blockbuster etc.

Paying bills - almost everything can be paid online by CC or Check

Clothing / Electronics - online

Add more to the list

Thats why people are getting so fat

Yep, unless you live in San. Antonio - I think you can go in person.

all they need is the routing # and account # and they do a ach draft / withdrawl.

I think after June of 06 you needed to be in the Military or just discharged within a yr or so.

if you have any family with a usaa account i belive they can still get you a membership.
