Republicans Push For Death Certificates For Aborted Fetuses

Quote:

Legislation introduced in Tennessee would require death certificates for aborted fetuses, which likely would create public records identifying women who have abortions.

Republicans are fucked in the head with all the junk they've been coming up with lately. :disgust

no it wouldn't. it would just increase the # of women that do it in a back room at tacobell and die a week later.

Michaelious 02-14-2007 01:38 PM

Looks like a loop hole to find out who has had abortions.

Doctor Dre 02-14-2007 01:47 PM

How about we make one for every sperm that dies in the condom I'm using?

Rep. Stacey Campfield, a Republican, said his bill would provide a way to track how many abortions are performed.
Well, wanting numbers is okay, but it shouldn't be a matter of public records for the aborted fetuses, that's just crazy and creates a lot more needless paperwork that someone has to do and get PAID for (more tax dollars down the drain).

Besides, isn't there a LOT of controversy about WHEN a fetus is actually considered alive? If you provide a death certificate then you're clearly stating that it was alive (has to live to die), and to some minds the fetus isn't alive til it hits a certain number of weeks, and for others it's not alive until it's actually born and breathing.

Crazy shit :Oh crap

notabook 02-14-2007 02:08 PM

The only way I could see this being applied is for late-term abortions, similar to what they do with late-fetal death certificates.

The republican party has lost much of its base with the religious right turning their back on them. This is nothing more than an attempt to reconnect with that base. Without that base the repubs have little chance of winning the white house in 08. We will see more of this pandering to them in the next 18 months or so as they work hard to regain the base that they let slip away. Luckily for the repubs they don't really have to achieve anything to satisfy the religious right, just trying is often good enough. They try, fail, blame it on the liberals and all is good in God's country.

Matt 26z 02-14-2007 02:09 PM

At how many months do they issue a death certificate for early natural births?

TheLegacy 02-14-2007 02:12 PM

WELL THANK GOD THEY ARE MIXING POLITICS WITH RELIGION!!

next they will be looking for all sorts of things like mentally handicap gets aborted - if they find the gay gene - sure enough that will be aborted - what the hell - lets make perfect babies, the master race to coin a phrase - then invade other countries and save them from themselves and give them the democratic peace and freedoms we all enjoy

SmokeyTheBear 02-14-2007 02:14 PM

If you start using logic here you are going to get your balls ripped off by an hungarian whore named Nikoletta.

Do not try to inject logic into Republican policy, a black hole will form and our planet will get swallowed through the event horizon and obliverated in the singularity. :error

I think abortion drives a woman, specially girls that have no support from their partner, parents and close family, that do have an abortion in the worts manners, abortion should be a private matter, where there is a form of support for the lady that has to go through the experience; invest in support to teach the family, partners to not abandone their loved ones and make abortion the last choice, cause it generally is the last choice. Girls just dont go ahead and have an abortion, they reach out to friends and their BF, once they feel completely alone and unable to take care of the child, they go ahead an perform the abortion and scar themselfs. Making the matter public will just cause more clandestine clinics to exist, and make woman that had to take the decision more embarrassed and have a harder transition.

After Shock Media 02-14-2007 02:25 PM

Does this mean men can take out life insurance on their man juice and collect each time an abortion happens?

Kimo 02-14-2007 05:29 PM

that is fucking stupid

That was my question.

Maybe they're just looking for ways to increase paperwork so they can get their friends and cronies employed in the county clerk's and hospital admin offices.

StickyGreen 02-14-2007 10:06 PM

Death certificates are supposed to be for people who died. A little fetus is not a person... it was barely even alive in the first place...

I'm looking at my mom's death certificate and it has her birthday on it. What would they put for the birthday of a fetus that never even came out of the womb? lol...

RawAlex 02-14-2007 10:09 PM

It is an end run around trying to get the fetuses to be considered people, and thus making abortion murder. It is a cute try to sneak in through the back door.

The simple fact is that you cannot have a death certificate without first having a birth certificate. So they are pretty much at a dead end.

Anyone who ever thinks of voting republican should think what these nutjobs really want.

The sad thing is that being Republican used to not be a bad thing. There is nothing wrong with being fiscally conservative, paying low taxes, and having a small government.

But the party shifted to only focus on outrageous social issues. They are so far from the middle it's sad. As someone who is fiscally conservative but socially liberal, there really isn't a good choice anymore. I have been voting Democrat lately because while they may spend a lot, they are seemingly not completely retarded.
