The adult film industry is unlikely to be worth as much as it claims—and the Internet that made porn so pervasive is driving a sales slump.

Internet porn. It’s nearly impossible to get any reliable data on how much people are making online, but anecdotal evidence suggests that it’s much less than the $2.8 billion business AVN makes it out to be. The adult industry is suffering from the same pirating woes that have increasingly been bedeviling the recording industry...As a result of all the free (and now, thanks to home studio technology, amateur) content circulating online, there is a glut of increasingly graphic supply and stagnant demand, according to numerous porn producers... If the adult industry produces so many billions of dollars, where are the billionaires among its ranks?

It's good that they showed how much of this IS business, I like how they drew that parallel between Adult and Music regarding pirating.

In that note where are the billionaires in the wedding industry, the funeral industry, the micro brewers, and so forth. This business like many others has many well off companies and individuals yet like many others as well very few industries have billionaires in their ranks.

I disagree. There might not be any billionaires, but there are lots of millionaires. I was recently surprised to discover one of my industry friends drives a $100k car. I knew it he made good money, but to go out and pay $100k cash for a car...... That's a bit much.

I disagree also, many many people make GOOD money in this biz, but if you look at gfy you will not think that at all.

I bet 90% of the people that make GOOD money don't post here at all

there is a total second and third side to this industry that never is talked about or shows up on the boards, and that second and third side make the most money

You need money to make money. So rich people get richer everyday..

I think it should be compared to the intertainment industry such as movies and music and not the service and goods business.
