Why is my little AIM icon, in the lower right hand side of my screen, flashing?

It seems to be flashing something. It's hard to describe, but does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?

I originally thought that it was trying to tell me that the was an update or something, but now I just think that there's something wrong.
