Why is Epassporte that stupid?

Cant they just set something like a CCV2 up and you need to enter it on any transaction?

Damian_Maxcash 02-13-2007 09:39 AM

I dont get it?

Pimpin_J 02-13-2007 09:43 AM

When you buy something with a real credit card you have to enter those last 3 numbers on your card to verify that your the phisical owner of the card to prevent scams/hacks/crime wtf.

So why cant they set something up like this when you transfer money to another epass account.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh Yes, I guess you are. Have you ever used a credit card and had them ask for your user/pass?

I have to use ccv2 when I use my Epass as a credit card.

I don't get it either... so it would be kinda like a 2nd password? If so, that's pointless...

If your user/pass gets hacked, the hacker can send money/take it out of your account on so on. But without the valid ccv2 he cant send/take out any funds.
Another option would be something like a TAN list. We have this for real bank accounts over here. You have a list with lots of Numbers like ABC123 and so on. Everytime you transfer money online you have to enter one of these unique numbers and you cant enter the same number twice.
Maybe this would help...

DarkJedi 02-13-2007 11:20 AM

you are a moron.

For actual transfers from within the epassporte admin he has a good point it could help. A secondary PW different from the admin log in (sort of like a pin number like you would use at the ATM).

This wouldn't help if someone had access to your virtual card number (that should be encrypted in the admin area) but it would keep these "hackers" from transferring money from stolen account to stolen account.

wouldn't it be easier to ... i dunno... pick a "strong" password...?
