I switched from Smart FTP to filezilla, probably not the best choice if you have 100s of sites but it does the job

Flash FTP is the best IMO if you don't mind spending a few bucks

winscp....

Been using CuteFTP 3.3 for quite a while and it works ok.

I also use psftp when I only want the command-line.

I just use dreamweaver now, works beautifully. Before I just used dreamweaver to edit files, but smartftp was fucking around too much and I really didn't feel like paying for an ftp program if I already have something that has the capabilities.

I love flashfxp

Tanker put me on to an FTP called Ipswitch, never looked back.:thumbsup

I use smartFTP but it pisses me off big time. I also have Flash FXP for seperate work things..

I hate wsftp, cuz put a lot of logs en the server...

Wow, surprising to me. I use smartftp and it seems fine to me, maybe I should try something else to see what I'm missing.

I know that smartftp requires you to set file extentions for binary and text uploads and things will screw up if you forget a file extention.
That's not an smartftp "problem" though.

I loved FlashFXP for years.... but lately, FileZilla has stolen my heart. It does way more, manages sites way better and handles multiple connections very well.

FileZilla is now my new FTP client of choice.

Filezila and flashfxp.Flashfxp doesnt have support for SFTP so i use filezilla for it.

WS_FTP Pro is what I've been using for the last few years. If you have Vista, they do have a beta version of it that you can get if you give them a call.
