I was kind of routing for my hometown boys Mastadon, but there are more politics in these stupid award shows than the Presidential debates.

I'm glad to see them finally getting some recognition and not having to mellow out or change their sound to get it.

While I'm excited for them to finally win a grammy, I think it was likely done more as a "thanks for 25 great years" kind of award.

It's about time, one of the best bands ever IMO.

Saw them play with Motorhead in 89. Awesome show.

Pretty cool. Finally seen them in concert in London, Ontario last week. I think I probably lost 10% of my hearing for good.

Maybe it took them so long to win an award because.... they suck?

I remember seeing the Clash Of The Titans tour back when I was like 15-16. It was Alice In Chains, Slayer, Anthrax & Megadeth. Fucking bad ass show!

Alice In Chains opened up and me and my friends stayed in our seats for them. When Slayer came out we were all pumped and ready to go down on the floor and see how close we could get.

As we stood up we say the entire floor turn into like 20 different mosh pits with barely anyone seperating one pit from the next. It was crazy looking. My friends and I sat back down and watched the rest of the show from our seats, LOL. Hey we were all scrawny 14-16 year olds, lol.

One of my friends likes Slayer very much...I've never known their music, but sounds like worth checking out (you never know what you can learn and from where...)

I dont listen to dance music, but i would think that a group of head banging middle aged wannabes jumping into eachother with their shirts off would be considered more faggo then any other kind of music.

I am fucking ecstatic for Slayer, but they don't need to Grammy to prove anything. They will always be one of the pioneer metal bands and they never sold out or changed a thing...if anything they only got heavier. The Grammy's are a fucking joke...I haven't watched since Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for best hard rock/heavy metal album (I think that was the category). I'm no fan of Metallica anymore, but Jethro Fucking Tull?
