(use http://IPalert.com to find the domains - not just snap - use the pending delete domain watcher)

you backorder a snapnames or other domain that is in pending delete and then when the domain is officially dropped 1of 2 things will happen. either you will win for the stock price of $60 or if multiple people backordered it an auction starts which lasts 3 days. high bidder wins. that is all.

the thing about snap that is critical is that they have priority on a lot of domains (netsol drops for example) so they have the golden ticket.

Snapnames has an agreement with some registrars to take all of their expiring names and make them available at auction to highest bidder. You need to "snapback" the domains with your account in order to be able to participate in the private auction.. which will usually take place over a period of 3 days.

so say I put a bid of 5k on a domain that is set to go on auction in 5 days

if the high bid is 60$, I only pay 60$? or does it bid the full 5000 amount for me?

no you pay $60. but it is better to set up a bot to bid a few seconds before each additional 5 minute increase in the auction duration or do it live yourself. otherwise, you will get housed by the pros (vaxis, benfranklin, saggydimes, bonkers, et al)

Your bid is a Max proxy bid. If you were the only bidder, you pay the $60. You would pay just a little more than the second highest bidder. You might want to just bid $61 or $62 for most names and wait for the last hour or so to start bidding more.

I'll let Xpays keep answering.. I didn't see him replying when I was. No need for both of us to do it.

So guys, if for example i am looking to find all LLL.com that are waiting to expire and I want to pick them up, what can I use?

will snapnames.com let me do that? find all, for example, 3 letter .coms that are about to expire and set a bid on each of them?

is that what I should be looking at doing?

there is a 3 character category in the ipalert.com platinum account. try a month of the platinum pddw account and you will see more categories that get you hot and you can win the 3-letter .com's at snap many times for below 5k.

you could parse the snap list btw for 3 letter domains but you will not see them all because snap won't show them all- use pddw- trust me. money back if you are not satisfied.

XPays 02-12-2007 12:19 AM

1 more thing btw- you can use our instant backorder tool and get your bids in with one-click and without leaving your hunt for more domains at ipalert. you will be addicted to our service i bet if you try it.

cool - email the cs email inside the ipalert backend with any questions you have and the whole thing should become second nature for you in no time at all.
