Started with my magazine in 94, moved online a few years later...

Started in '96

I'm going on 7.

First adult (and mainstream) site in 1996. Hard to imagine I have been doing this for so long.

Same here. I think I was the 87th (give or take a few) webmaster on Adult Check. All down hill from there :1orglaugh

Yeah, I agree...10 years went quick.

I remember thinking AVS was a joke. I mean the concept of letting someone on my site for free simply because they had paid someone else for access to their site was something I could not comprehend.

Little did I know that a few years later I would run, then own a system.

I saw the value in it immediately. I made a shitload of money and also started my own AVS so I could effectively double my income without really doing anything different.

The money that I made with those initial avs sites and the avs itself I reinvested into a number of different business both online and off.

I am still reaping the rewards from that dinky little avs site I started so many years ago. :1orglaugh It's been a fun ride.

Sixteen years for me. Got in the porn biz in 1991 right out of college on the East Coast. My first real movie was shot in 1993 on Beta SP- Strap-On Sally- and was a huge success on VHS and launched a twenty-two volume series and multiple spinoffs. Now sixteen years later, a lot has changed, with high-definition video, non-linear editing, DVDs, and the internet.

I started running adult bookstores back in '95, and I remember the Strap-On Sally series very well. We used to get at least a few copies of the various volumes each week in our reorders :thumbsup

It will be 10 years around July - I think my first check was from some Canadian AVS - but it would have been closely followed by UGAS.

10 yrs running the same site under the same domain without any downtime.
never been an affiliate, never worked for any other site, never modeled for any other site.... It don't get much better then this....

late 96, and now i'm done for the most part.

Long story but just about everything you can imagine. From working at a tire shop, bathtub refinishing, construction, handyman. You name it, my partner and I tried it.

Started in 95 but didn't make a penny till around 97, then everything we made we put back in the biz. Long 12 years but we love what we do.

That got me thinking - the first check was from 'RealAVS' - talk about a blast from the past.

I remember getting my first sale and doing the math - I was going to be a millionaire within 6 months based on that $5.00
