Definitely isn't brutality, it is excessive force if anything. The kid was probably flipping out and being cocky and they had to make an arrest, so they had to tase his ass...

If you resist arrest, you have to deal with the penalties. If he was smart, he would've gotten on the ground and lied there until they cuffed him, and then see if they were brutal. That is what you have to do, if you're confronted by police and you know you're in the right - fall to the ground with your arms and legs spread, and make them look like morons. :upsidedow

I'm as liberal as it gets, but I think the police did the right thing in this case. I am also not a fan of police (at all), yet I see that this 'kid' is obviously in the wrong.

The police don't go out thinking 'conservative' by the way; they go out thinking that they have to get home safe. This kid was probably resisting arrest like I said, and the most efficient way to get him down was to use the taser. Even in the video, it appears he is resisting arrest even while being tased, so they had to keep doing it until he was cuffed.

And, no one is sqirming as far as I can see...

Hey check it out my college is on tv... That scene right there looks like the Aztec Center, I used to always skate through there and if I'd meet a cop I'd just get off my skateboard... They do issue tickets for that, but I've never seen someone get tazered for it.

Pretty hard to tell much of anything from that video. But being tazed really isn't a big deal. I have seen much worse.

Anyway the kid seems like he was being a dick from his own words and description of what happened so I don't see the problem.

If anyone bothers to research the story a little - you'll get info that there were a bunch of people (5-10) on boards, all were asked to get not ride them as it isn't allowed on campus - and the rest of the skaters complied.

The guy in the video was defiant, became belligerent, yelling and using profanity at the officers, and then took a threatening position towards the two officers - he deserved everything he got!

Not that I agree with the rule - or the skaters position that the rule sucks isn't right. But... if you smack the dog in the face - don't cry like a bitch when he bites!
