What do most USA citizens think of Bush?

Redneck in a suit who rode his daddy's coattails to the White House. THe U.S. wants a "royal family" in my opinion and made a really bad choice.

Considering his approval rating is at 30-32% I'd say that the board seems fairly representative.

I thought Bush was great for his response to 9/11. No matter what you currently think of Bush, you must admit that would be a difficult time for any US President.

However, since then...... Let's just say his popularity rating is the lowest of nearly any US President.....

I pretty much agree. Before 9/11 he was a lame duck. Even with Republicans in both houses he was having trouble getting his nominations through and was even having problems getting a cabinet together not to count the almost instant controversy with his meeting enron and other energy execs while forming his energy policy. Then his sitting and reading the book during 9/11 was pretty bad, but a day or two after he went to New York and he made some speeches and he said the things the country needed to hear. He told everyone we are okay and going to get through this and he promised to find the people that did this. At that moment he had much of this country, and the world, with him and backing him up. We invaded Afghanistan and much of the world agreed with us and supported us. Then he lost his way. He never finished the job in Afghanistan, instead he allowed himself to be sidetracked with his obsession over Iraq and it has been down hill ever since. Since he invaded Iraq (with the exception of a few bumps) his job approval rating has been horrible, he won re-election, but nearly lost to Kerry who was a somewhat weak candidate and was considered one of the most liberal senators in the nation and if not for some questionable ethics in Ohio he may have lost that election. He has lost his grip on the conservative right base, lost control of the house and senate and now is facing a situation where no matter what he does there will be strong opposition. Much of the world now hates us and out country, or at least its leaders, have lost much of their credibility.

I don't know that he is a loser so much as he has been a pretty big disappointment.

I dont think he is the best president nor do i think he is the worst. I dont entirely approve of him but he was 'in a pickle' after 9/11, hard decisions to be made. But then again i dont like how it is the popular thing to not like him. Like all the celebrities.

I am not teling that Saddam was nice and life under his government was fine. But is it better now? People are afraid to go in the street. People are dying. Children are dying. There is UNO to solve problems like that and not George Bush. And I don't claim that the war against terrorism shpould be stopped. No. I am for this program. But he is not allmighty. He is NOT GOD. This program should be provided by some other methods. You may disagree with me, but it is MY PERSONAL opinion.

Using this logic, he is the worst president. He is the only one that allowed a terror attack on the US. It's all in your perspective.

I don't think anyone that make it so far as the precidency is a loser. However its what they do with it which will be remembered, and Bush has failed mostly.

Other than wasting the international goodwill given to the US after 9/11 by mishandling Iraq and billions of dollars being unaccounted for there, borrowing more than all the previous Presidents combined to run up the largest federal deficit in history, allowing the mismanagement of the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, vetoing federal funding of stem cell research, ordering NSA warrantless surveillance activities or withdrawing the US from the Kyoto Protocol and the International Criminal Court there is little to criticize about the Bush administration.

I don't understand why anyone would question the extent of his involvment in the outing of Valerie Plame, voting irregularities in 2000 and 2004, using public sentiments following 9/11 for political purposes, the financial connections between the Bush family and the Bin Laden family or lying about the cause for starting the war in Iraq.
