I realize the accused must be given a defense, but I often find myself wondering what a defense lawyer's argument would be if the victim was HIS daughter.

They come up with these outrageous defense arguments sometimes, makes you wonder if they really believe the bullshit they sling in court.

This is a police officer with authority demanding a favor for the repudiation of a speeding ticket... a 15 year old consenting sex with a 18 year old, and the 18 year old getting arrested and put in prison is another issue completely....

It was a jury that found him not guilty of the charges. Maybe people are right when they say that if you're guilty it's better to have a jury; if you're innocent it's better to have a judge.

I wasnt impressed with her lawyer at all...probably a court appointed attorney. This can be appealed I am sure and a new lawyer that is a total shark will step up for the fame and money..it could be a very big case if they wanted it to be.

It's very very similar.

There is an inherent inequality.

It is an abuse of power.

A minor cannot "consent." Neither can anyone else who is subject to the officer's authority when an officer is on duty.

So what if she offered? The onus on him is to decline; especially considering his position (on-duty cop, married, etc).
