2257 Data Base Questions

I was looking for a 2257 data base software and came up with a few as I did before.
Has anyone used ytracker, my2257 records or this free one?
I found mavis, but as I mentioned prior, it is too pricy for me at this time. The basic version of mavis is not so pricy, but I am concerned on how much information you can store in it before you need to upgrade to the real pricy version

I also found a free one http://www.2257software.org/. I am very skeptical about anything free and there must be a catch.
Has anyone used any of these software programs? Can you give us some feedback about these or a program you use?
My wife set one up in excel, but our attorney has problems accessing it and in reality, it is a pain in the butt to use.

I wrote a free system that I use and a number of other people at another board (can't say which).

If you go to Cool Content, Casper has a link on his content store to the official download. Here is the Link

The system is bare bones, with an image viewer, work forms, and excel database. You just have to enter the data. It couldn't be simpler unless I did it for you. Once you get the hang of it and use the work sheet to gather all your imput data, it progresses pretty fast.

Must have Excel loaded on your system.

if you want a full-featured, professional program that kicks ass but is reasonably priced...talk to DJ at ZEI - a lot of the big boys use it too...but it really does the job for small setups as well :thumbsup

Honestly you might be better hiring a coder to create a custom solution based on your current setup.

Is that the guy that programmed the now defunced my2257?

We went through a TON of them before settling on ytracker. The software is GREAT, and the guy who wrote it rocks! He has done at least 5-10 upgrades to the software since I bought it over a year ago. He's always improving it, and (while I needed it) he was always available on either phone or email.

Other then being turned off by all the other solutions, and loving this guys software/customer service - I have nothing to do with him or anything. Just a happy customer.

yes, it's the guy who wrote it, and took it over after the debacle - he changed the name from my2257 to zei2257.
he's solid, the business is solid, and the program is great :thumbsup

I'm sure someone will come up with an easy hosted solution for 2257 docs.

Does it allow us to cross reference links to pages of where the images are found to the model release info? For example, I submit galleries so I would need to cross link everything...
