Why did so few sites not do this?
 

About 9 months ago we opened the site so the surfer could see what he was buying. http://www.paulmarkhamteens.com/memb...ll=1&orderby=7

The response in sign ups was fantastic. The same traffic stated to produce better ratios. There are many other obvious benefits, generates customer trust, bookmarkers, affiliates see what the site has, see what's best to promote, targeting a particular girl or sub niche like "Blonde Teens" or "iPod Porn videos" more for search engine spiders to crawl over, ever changing site, etc.

So why did so few sites do the same?

No that's the members area, just all the links to content are disabled.

I think that's pretty good service. With the competition being what it is, steps like that will profit.:thumbsup

I've done the "Peek inside Anytime" button with screen shots of actual member area pages..got nice ratios.

BTW, if I were you I'd change the copyright to extend to the current year... showing 2004 makes the site seem a little stale. Just MHO.

And point to me losing sales because a surfer is reading the smallest, least obvious and most irrelevant thing on the page.

Haters, come up with why your site does not do this or why you do not want sponsors, you send traffic to, to do it. Other than you would lose sales if the surfer had a clue what you were selling him.

If this industry was converting at a better ratio I would say we have the surfers trust and respect. But from what I heard ratios are not so great.

Do I want ALL sites to do this? No fucking way, it would negate my edge.

Do I want more sites doing this so the surfers who buy memberships expect it? Too FUCKING right I do. Because it would really cut into the sales of the site sites who dare not do it. And it would make my affiliates jobs even easier.

Those who say sites do it are welcome to show us them.

Its because the way the code the sidebar.php files to work with categories, ect. They don't use the default coded options - so you will have to replace them

Most sites would lose sales if they followed this route.

Unless you're going to say they would gain sales and decided not to do it because of the BW charges. Can't think of another reason.

well we tried it on our site about a month ago. Not because of Paul but someone from a review site said it would probably help if they saw how many videos they could download since real amateur sites normally did not have that many videos. So we just took the members video page and took the links off. On avg it went from 1:388 to 1:240. Not sure if it was from doing that because I found two very nice ways to get some very good traffic. Also We do not get enough traffic to come up with a good answer anyway.
