Gadow doesn't actually want the initative to pass; he wants to force a challenge of it, which would take the Defense of Marrriage Act into higher courts. It would actually force conservatives to have one of their own ideas challenged in higher courts, and they will do it on their own initiative.

I don't know why religious nuts and right wingers have their boxers in a knot over gay marriage. Gay sex freaks them out, but if anything, gay marriage might actually *reduce* promiscuity in the gay community.
