If you are sitting next to someone who irritates you on a plane or train...

1. Quietly and calmly open up your laptop case.

2. Remove your laptop.

3. Turn it on.

4. Make sure the guy who won't leave you alone can see the screen.

5. Open this email.

6. Close your eyes and tilt your head up to the sky.

7. Then hit this http://www.thecleverest.com/countdown.swf

Just got this in my email....lol

WarChild 02-07-2007 12:21 PM

No you just look them in the eyes and say "I'm sorry but I'm not really looking for any new friends right now. Thanks anyway and have a good day." then just completely ignore them. Usually they feel so foolish they just shut up.

Ice 02-07-2007 12:22 PM

OMG dude you would have security waiting for you when you got off the plane

tASSy 02-07-2007 12:24 PM

i dont mind chatting with people.
but i usually just open a book and start reading...that is enough to stop most conversations

uno 02-07-2007 12:30 PM

I enjoy bothering people I sit next to on planes, especially when flying first class.

EscortBiz 02-07-2007 12:34 PM

Anthony 02-07-2007 01:47 PM

I find at times like that, being asian helps out alot.

I give a dumb look and say "Sowwy, no speak engrish".

JD 02-07-2007 01:47 PM

haha good shit lmao

Sly 02-07-2007 02:00 PM

I usually initiate the conversation. I think people are afraid I might drool on them.

bausch 02-07-2007 02:11 PM

I would just look the other way and make it really obvious that I don't want to associate with them. I am not polite and nice. I don't have to pretend that I don't speak English if I don't want to associate with someone, I make sure they KNOW I want to be left alone.

And trust me, people can TELL by my body language that I want to be left alone. They can tell from a mile away. I have a frigid "do not approach me, leave me alone" kind of vibe. And I like it that way.

People irritate me. I don't have the energy to open up a laptop when I'm around people who irritate me just for their sake. That's like giving them too much of me. They get nothing.

I've found that those who bark the most about being a hardass in real life are not.

lol, I am SO curious about you. I've been reading your posts since before you changed your nick. You have a very interesting view on life.

I guess it's a rhetorical question but have you been to any webmaster events?

I'm not a hardass. I'm just anti-social. I don't like people and don't like talking to new people in real life. I like to be left alone and I like to mind my own business.

I went for a few hours to the last day of one webmaster event once and met a few people. I didn't attend the full event though, even though I paid for it.

That was probably the only and last webmaster event I will ever go to. Personally for me there is no need to attend any of them. I don't want to start a program or anything so there's no need for me to network and mingle. I'm already very comfortable with my webmaster earnings. I've been doing this for many years and never really felt a need to go to any events... I'm more of an introvert.

Why would you be so curious about me?? A lot of webmasters that I know of are anti social and don't like people. That's why many, but not all, choose to work from home.

lorine 02-08-2007 02:23 AM

Very funny but for a thing like that I bet they`ll arrest you in a second ! :1orglaugh

Hey, I'm not the world's most sociable guy myself, although it's usually only when I'm around people I don't know. It takes me a while to warm up in that case.

On the other hand, you seem to delight in informing everyone on GFY about how anti social you are and how much you hate being around people. I'm interested in why, and what you're really like away from the comp. Are you a complete bitch to people, or more the shy type that doesn't respond when someone talks to you?

This is a genuine question :)

rowan 02-08-2007 02:34 AM

BTW I enjoy working by myself, and FOR myself, but I do miss the chance to interact with others sometimes. If I wasn't working in adult then I'd probably find some sort of shared office setup, but there's no way I'm working on a TGP full of naked girls with others looking over my shoulder. :1orglaugh

WiredGuy 02-08-2007 02:36 AM

It also helps to chant loudly Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! The air marshall on that flight will make sure the rest of your flight will be confined in a quiet area. Not only that, you'll be the first one off the flight and escorted by FBI :)

Well, it depends on who the person is that is trying to talk to me and what they want. If it's someone giving me a compliment in regards to my appearance or clothes etc, then of course I will be nice and say "thank you". It also depends on my mood. Usually if it's someone making small talk I usually brush people off.

I am not COMPLETELY retarded, I know how to be polite when I HAVE to. For example if I have to meet someone for business related things I ONLY present myself in the best light and say whatever it is to make me look the most friendliest, but if it's someone I don't know, like someone out of the blue... well then I could really care less.

If it's someone talking to me for no reason, then most of the time I try to cut them off nicely. Most people know not to talk to me. It's not that I'm rude, I think people can tell I like to be left alone because I turn away from people.
And I have defensive body language such as crossing my arms when I walk. I also don't smile and don't make eye contact. So people know I'm not there to make friends.

I don't go out really, usually it's only to run errands like buy food or deposit money in the atm.... But I don't like to socialize like at clubs or in crowds of large people. I just like to be left alone.
