they are decent but WAY overpriced if you live in any major metro area you can get steaks and meats taht are as good or better for way less dough

I was checking out some of the specials and I also got a mailing from them that seemed very reasonable. Just wasn't sure about the taste...

I've never eaten them, but we've shipped them as gifts and everyone we sent them to loved them.

Top of the line for steaks! Very good investment for your tummy.

had their filet mignon once. a sponsor had it sent to me as a christmas gift years ago. very good from what i remember.

Mikes right about cost, I think most of their business comes from sending their product as gifts. It's a first class product.

tired them once and had a poor experience

not very good....any black angus steak at the supermarket beats it 10 fold

My butcher gives me better deals..they are pricey but quality

for sure a Nay on Omaha Steaks. Go to a good steakhouse. Do not buy it frozen.

find a good local butcher.... its still going to be pricey, but good meat is good meat and you get what you pay for... in the Detroit area, I highly recommend Jacks Meat Market in Novi, the guy is 3rd or 4th generation butcher and hish prices arent bad....

Odd...of course a local meat market is better, but sending a gift from Omaha no one complains :)

Split vote, will say yes if they are intended for a gift for others. No if for personal consumption unless you have no access to a local butcher which is very damn rare. Just because the quality although good is below average when it comes to what you get from a quality butcher and the price is much higher than what a butcher would charge you.

But the shipped frozen stuff is really good too

They always have good specials, not really over priced at all

the steaks melt in your mouth...If you want steaks like them, you gotta go to a HIGH END steakhouse and even then they don't melt like Omaha steaks do.

For that price, they better be good.

I have a freezer FULL of them that I'll be giving away when I move Thursday. I buy about $1,000/year from them for myself and as gifts ... they're incredibly good.

I got one of the big packages for a gift, it was damn good

If you can buy them with a special (which they seem to have every 15 minutes or so that they email or call me about) they are OK.

A local butcher can cut you much better steaks, IMO. We actually hit the big time recently and there's a meat shop that opened about 30 minutes from here. Yipee!

I bought Omaha Steaks a few times and I think they're very good.

There is one bad thing about them though is that they get persistant after you place a couple of orders and I think my mistake was making an order with them after they called me to sell me more, since then, they'd call and I'd say that I wasn't ready for more, so they'd say "we'll call you in a couple of weeks" or offer to take the order and send it at a later date. It got rediculas because they'd call again and again, even multiple times a day.
