Ideas to improve GFY
 

So I'm thinking this board could use an easy importance ranking system with averages.. Or simple voting, so you vote for a thread if you think it was worth reading..

Hrmmm.. Possibly a way to see what kind of sites the people run visually? IE: gallery posters could see who runs a TGP, etc. Colour coding is pretty lame, but I'm sure there's a good way..

set the minimum number of posts to 100 before allowing the creation of new topics. would kill alot of the spammers...

i like porncity's way of awarding prizes, but NO i dont want us to FOLLOW porncity,.. just an observation i made...

if prizes were given / points for every post, i bet lensmans posts to this board would increase by at least 30%

what about "GFY Live!" Radio show that runs 24/7 with different people hosting and providing topics to bullshit about.... guest callers, whatnot.... would fully enhance the GFY experience I think.... and it would be absolutely fucking hilarious at times I imagine.... I know the board is..... :Graucho

after 100 mega spams just within threads, they would have much more time to be banned before reaching 100.

what about non-spam, non-contact funny shit phrase of the day type stuff? That doesn't really count as anything....

No buttons is what I mean. A smiley or small graphic is fine. But no 120x60 buttons.

There should be a more prominent search button so people don't ask the same damn questions all the time and it should be able to do a 3 letter search.


I think there should be a place where new folks can ask questions, maybe it can be called 'Webmaster Q&A' Also, there should be a place where people can trade traffic and post gallery requests I don't know what to call this section though.

A quick link that shows the lastest posts to threads that you have personally posted to would be nice. This would avoid requiring to search for your own user name to see if anyone replied to a post you may have made a few days ago...

Also we need a way to get more hot babes in here -- maybe import them from somewhere...

No this is a good idea... sure there are ways around it, but it would remove a lot of spamming, and also force everyone to become involved in GFY.

I dunno man. Yeh, prizes are great, but it's so damn boring/weird over there. We post plenty of stupid shit here, but it's all great entertainment and some good information. At PC they have this whole "Point Whore" thing where it's obvious people post JUST for the prizes.

Surprisingly, the quality of GFYers is pretty good compared to other boards. Would be nice to keep it that way. :thumbsup

There should be an "elite" room where only people with over 500 posts can go.

So whose got the clout to get any of this shit implemented? I'm there are a few dozen volunteers here. I'd really like to see some of these issues addressed, some good ideas..

that's fucking six lines of signature space. gfy would rock if they would enforce the sig policy as well as make it button or text but not both.

Damn that tolik has more signature lines than I have in most of my posts.

hey doughboy.... get a clue. I was asking about the lines already in the sigs that have nothing to do with business or contact info..... as in, they shouldn't count as being a line of signature, because they are intended for pure levity and not business.... not "what if that's all GFY allowed"....
