So after watching the smartest man in the world talk for 9 minutes, how come I learnt nothing from him?

this guy is in serious need of approval from his peers. probably from the neglect of his various childhood fathers. i believe there are many people who could reach his level of knowledge if they so desired.

he is right about one thing though. i really think they could turn grades 1-12 into 2-3 years of school. most of it is repetitive, time consuming bullshit.

I took an IQ test out of the back of a magazine once...

It told me I had a 210 I.Q.

It was then that I learned to disregard suchs tests in the back of magazines.

After reading his "cognitive theory of the Universe" or whatever the hell it is..

It sounds like he read one book on set theory/number theory and then went INSANE.

I have a degree in math - 99% of what he's saying is a disjointed, non-sensical mathematical proof using set theory and number theory. Basically, it's overly complicated rambling that will confuse laymen and Math PhDs equally (and not because its mindblowing but because it's such a horribly structured argument).

I watched this video and found it interesting.

Some of his views may seems extreme, like him calling himself "god" but I dont think you understand what he means by this. He is not saying he is an all powerful being, what he is saying is that if he had all the knowledge he would be able to understand and solve everything. Which makes sense if you knew the answer to any question then wouldnt you see that as "god like".

As for the population he is quite right. The biggest single problem with this planet is there are too many people and to few resources. We have also stopped the natural process of evolution with the fit and healthy no longer the only ones able to breed. Instead science and medicine could be argued to be a new stage in evolution which allows us to go beyond the natural abilities of our species.

Naw. It wasn't "Who's Who in high IQ test scoring" or anything like that... was just, imho, a poorly executed IQ test in the back of some magazine...

I've had my IQ taken in "legitimate" settings twice in my life - and both scores were within 7 points from each other.... while the magazine "test" had more than 5 times that deviation.

Just saying that kinda stuff isn't reliable... not that I.Q. tests, in general, are much more.
