I need fucking gallerys!

List all your galleries that you want listed...this is for a friend of mines new tgp.

Also list any databases that you have up for this purpose.

I don't understand how you can be sued for that. In fact I don't think it would hold up. A tgp doesnt own the galleries. It just links to them.

Someone please explain.

He provides a service, he has to go through thousnds of galleries and pick the best ones, I'd say that counts for something

if you copy his whole list he might consider sending an email asking to remove it, if he even finds it.

can't do anything if you only take a few links from him. what's going to happen? "uh... yo, i was looking at your site earlier with a list of 600 galleries on it. two of them appear to be taken from the yellow pages, so please remove. oh, by the way... here is some proof that the person didn't submit that gallery to both of us..."

not that i've done it before, just pointing out the facts.

How do gallery submitters feel about other tgps picking up their galleries?

I know I have only submitted to a few tgps that I like, and I get traffic from at least 20 tgps I never submitted to. and that is fine with me.

Why is it a problem?

I do in fact respect the work involved with running a large tgp. I just don't see any trademark or copyright protection for a list of links. That's all

Actually the court decision one of you alluded to didn't say that
"stealing" links was copyright infringement.. It's ripping off the whole collection that is.. So if you were to copy the huns entire post list every day, that could be considered copyright infringement, as the collection is a copyrightable work. The individual links are not.

That sounds reasonable, so the trick is to find 10 sites that list quality galleries and then steal ten from each, then you have 100 quality galleries with no worries.

I mean.. wait... that would be wrong.

depends on the submitter. Some people don't want 500 tgp sites hitting them, they only submit to 20-50 TGPs that they have narrowed down from the pack.

Also, depends on your traffic. For the most part, I don't want a generic TGP linking my niche galleries - and I sure as shit don't want any fucking Asian traffic!

sometimes I get Korean webmasters that either copy/paste my site in their language (complete with my trace scipt codes, too), or they just nail my shit, opening it within some frames set-up the use (keeping their Non-English ads listed above my content)

100% waste of fucking BW
the only good thing I did was change trade scripts, and 404'd their fucking horny asses
