I need a new DVD player - Blu ray or ?
 

Should I wait and shop for a new DVD player or just go with a Blu ray compatible model?

Blu ray sucks! HD DVD - much better

Dude blu ray = expensive just get a ps3

bluray is awesome.. much more capacity than HD DVD, and sales are outpacing HD DVD on a weekly basis...
might as well start upgrading your collection now :)

HD DVD discs can store over 50GB now, the space argument really holds no ground anymore.

I'd buy a regular DVD player for under $100 and wait for HD and Bluray to battle it out.

That is the perfect solution in my opinion,if I were you I`d buy a regular DVD player and wait. I think that Blu Ray will be the winner.

Just buy a nice $120 Sony upconverting DVD player. Upconverted DVD look virtually the same as HD plus you can watch any title - there is still a limited number of blu-ray and HD DVD titles.

I agree buying the ps3 you get more bang for your buck, plus it's sheik looking :2 cents:

Stick with regular dvd,that is better solution.

That's my plan. One of them will become the next beta max or laser disc.

I'd get a simple DVD player. I will wait till I see what happens in the Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD situation. Besides, prices will drop eventually

I think BluRay will win eventually. This is because of Sony's PS3.

LG has a new player that plays both BluRay and HD DVD. You can find it at Best Buy for like $1200.
