Do most sponsors allow email newsletters if people subscribe to them?

Just wondering.
I have an opt in newsletter that isn't ever used for spam, just updates to the site. Does this comply with most sponsors? I know a lot say no emailings, but does that apply to everything?

This newsletter is stictly opt in and the users have to confirm it etc, and can unsubscribe. It is deff not spam :)

No it's not spam but most sponsors think otherwise.

its only spam if its not double opt in. If the user killed an link in an email its legal. Single opt in is not legal.
