How many of you use Kazaa

Limewire, Morpheus, and all those deals? I'm in the process of putting together a list of them, so any that you know, I'd appreciate it.

And no, I'm not going to copy them.

Gary 08-01-2002 06:22 PM

The barn is for entertainment, Kazaa is for business

WayPay-Kenny 08-01-2002 06:28 PM

BearShare, my choice. :2 cents:

Glad we got that all squared away.

Amputate Your Head 08-01-2002 06:37 PM

I use Gnucleus.

x3guide 08-01-2002 06:40 PM

Audiogalaxy used to be the best way to find rare mp3's (like french punk bands from the 70s), until the RIAA took them to court (?). I suppose it's still down.

Morpheus and this Edonkey thing was ok.. I dunno if they're both down now as well.

I only ever used them to find the classic donald duck cartoons. These are now all in my possession.

And Roadrunner, sometimes.

/useless post

DX 08-01-2002 06:41 PM

they all suck.

usenet... use it.

Probably not, especially if I could guarantee the reseller that first got the file out there got credit in the end maybe?

jimmyf 08-01-2002 07:16 PM

Just for your list Ezula... Tell people not to use it though.. Puts some really bad spyware ware on you computer... Screw's with the Registary... And I'm pretty sure adware does not find it. If your pissed at someone go down load it then give it to them.:winkwink:

I-Mesh is fantastic but the spyware is getting out of control. Kazaa Lite is good.

winmx.com great

Pornwolf 08-01-2002 08:51 PM

Here ya go Kimmy, I think this is what you are looking for...
List of most popular file theft aids

heymatty 08-01-2002 08:52 PM

Not a lot of point advertising on on these places imo.

People who us it can download porn in 80mb chunks just as fast as our servers send it to them.

Internet eraser is being shared now with cracks, thats hurting sales because half the guys that feel they need things like this are the people dl cp on kazaa /limewire etc.

Whilst I love to dl mp3's I think we as a group should oppose file sharing because everyone isa sharing porn.

Pornwolf 08-01-2002 08:56 PM

Uhh... sorry... If ya can't stop it, ya might as well try to profit from it!

You can't stop it. Ask Hillary about trying to stop file sharing.

Kimmykim 08-01-2002 08:56 PM

heymatty, wouldnt it be funny if they could only watch the movies so many times as we liked, say 3, 5 whatever, and then they were gone?

what if they couldnt send the movies to their friends unless we let them?

what if they could join a site and then they couldnt see the movies after they cancelled their membership?

what if I can fucking tell joe surfer what he can and cant see unless he pays for it?

MY affiliates will have that right soon. Call it a novel idea, call it Pipecreeps idea, its just one thing we are doing for our sites.

Very true Kimmy. I've known about most of those things for several months now. If properly utilized the file sharing services could become our best freinds.

Dont ya love how porn is always 5 steps ahead of the rest of the net world?!

This will soon be available if M$ gets their way... look up their new digital content distribution scheme.

anyway, sounds like a good idea from the content distributor side of things, however, from the leeching bastard side of my heart, :Graucho I guess it will be hacked soon :)

heymatty 08-01-2002 09:13 PM

yep if we control it great

But how many people here use Dreamweaver and how many of those paid for it. You can crack anything.

I do however like video files that spawn popups being shared on kazaa etc, that seems smart

Kimmykim 08-01-2002 09:15 PM

Luckily the company that I am using IS a gatesian dev partner.

Therefore if you fuck with it, you will have to reinstall your OS if you run windows.

Kimmykim 08-01-2002 09:16 PM

Adobe etc are actually quite pleased with the deal, means that Photoshop will actually sell for a change lol

yeah I read about that OS protection.. still... if they can bypass hardware locks..... I guess it might stem the flow.. reduce the percentages if it's too much hassle for your average joe.

sexyavs 08-01-2002 09:34 PM

Anyone remember that $100 million dollar piracy protection the music industry had.. then some guy just used a black marker on it and the piracy protection was circumvented..

You cant stop bored hackers!

Wow, talk about resentment! Actually working on masters degree right now at one of the top schools in north america but You probably havent heard of it so why bother going in anymore detail... I've already had offers from a few major companies interested in my "mad skillz" :) and I still have 2 more years left in school! Any Person even remotely familiar with must have technology would know this company . Porn is just something I like doing and I hear I am pretty good at it!...... but if it makes you happy, you can still refer to me as pipecreek, pipecreep or whatever else will make you feel superior :thumbsup

It would be nice if intellectual property got treated like PROPERTY again, and could not be traded around like bubblegum cards. We (most of us) respect the right of the owner of photography to decide how it is used, but the owner of musical property gets a swift kick in the nuts even out of people who wouldn't dream of putting up a pirated photo.

Kimmykim 08-01-2002 09:44 PM

Nice to hear from you Pipsqueak I'm glad you are a child prodigy.

Unseen, wouldn't it be nice to make money from your work? We may be competitors but there is a common goal in there. :)

I agree with him - content protection like this will be bypassed extremely quickly, at most a couple of days. ASF was a "secure" format, and was cracked to become the basis of the first DivX.

If it can be decoded and viewed, it will be cracked. Don't let your MS sales drones tell you otherwise.

Cheers,
Backov

I'm a KaZaA type of guy. :BangBang:

skazzel 08-01-2002 11:10 PM

MicroSoft is actually working with the music/film industry to get a law passed to make it mandatory for computer hardware to have copy-protection hardware built in. Sort of like a clipper-chip for your computer. Bypassing hardware copy protection would be a lot harder than protection in software or the operating system.
