Has anyone gotten feedwordpress to work with Wordpress 2.1?
 

I am having all kinds of issues with it after installing wordpress 2.1

I got the hack done that people suggested on wordpress.org, but the sql errors are just fucking everything up, and when I add a feed it goes to a screen that says "Cheatin' Uh?"

We talked about this already in IRC but... there is a traffic jacking exploit that affects feeds pulled with feedwordpress rss2blog etc. ABP users are protected and have been from the get go.

you mentioned something but just hinted around, and I didn't have time to stick around to poke you to get an answer :1orglaugh

what happens when someone exploits this?

I just searched 9 exploit databases and found nothing about what you are talking about, are you the only one that knows about this?

They steal your traffic.

Yeah it's not an exploit in the sense that it is a bug or can be fixed. It's more of a zango type thing and no, I'm not the only one that knows about it.

I just don't mention it as it would seem I was trying to drive business towards ABP since it is immune to the exploit.

so feedwordpress doesn't work with 2.1?

Found this,

It is actually easy to get feedwordpress working with WP 2.1. First change line 44 from:

require_once (ABSPATH . WPINC . '/registration-functions.php');

to:

require_once (ABSPATH . WPINC . '/registration.php');

Lastly, change line 41 to:

require_once (ABSPATH . WPINC . '/rss.php');

Can't remember what line was before, but it was calling the file it asks you to upload to /wp-includes/ anyways.

I did that, tried it a few times actually, not sure if it worked or not, but it ends up with tons of mysql errors in the wordpress admin

have you personally done this? i tried it a few times and it didn't fully work

It can't get it to work on a fresh install but if I install the last one and then upgrade, it works.
