Who's NOT watching the Super Bowl Today

I think I'll probably be catching up on DVR backlog from the last 2 weeks.

Phoenix 02-04-2007 10:17 AM

superbowl is on?

i had no idea..lol

LiveDose 02-04-2007 10:18 AM

Haha, I have money on the game but no interest in really watching. Go figure.

Rochard 02-04-2007 10:32 AM

For some reason I don't watch professional sports - I just don't get it.

I played football and baseball on the school team when I was in high school and was "okay". I was a basketball superstar. But growing up as child my step father was from Europe and had no interest it in. My younger brother also played on the high school team and also has no interest in professional sports.

And thus I am totally in the dark about professional sports. I didn't even know the Superbowl was this weekend until I saw a bit on the news about the commercials.

I don't get the addiction to it. It's like porn - would you rather watch someone have sex on TV or would you rather get laid yourself?

Sick Bastard 02-04-2007 10:34 AM

Tom Brady....
and the rest of Patriots nation.

Sick B

KingK7 02-04-2007 10:35 AM

I guess it is a big thing in the US, but not over here...
I still dont quite get the rules.

CDSmith 02-04-2007 10:36 AM

I'll be missing the start of it, going to have dinner out first with some people.

I'll be back for the 2nd half though.

digifan 02-04-2007 10:37 AM

To watch it sitting for hours, snacking and drinking beer? You should do it yourself instead.

BlackCrayon 02-04-2007 10:38 AM

i won't be watching. i have no interested in watching sports. i'll just be waiting for it to be over so sales can get back to normal.

bogo 02-04-2007 11:19 AM

The commercials will be more entertaining.

ae-sc 02-04-2007 11:49 AM

YOu all make strong points, but I watch a lotttt of football. Its fun, hard hitting (tho not like UFC) and some damn funny commercials.

Zuss 02-04-2007 11:51 AM

I've already watched the handball world championship finals today. That's enough for today.

Galina Los 02-04-2007 11:52 AM

Pimpin_J 02-04-2007 11:52 AM

stickyfingerz 02-04-2007 11:57 AM

Dirty Dane 02-04-2007 12:01 PM

I don't like to watch men in tights

bushwacker 02-04-2007 12:06 PM

I think the only sporting event that is watched by more people is the world cup.

Martin 02-04-2007 12:08 PM

hmm yeh good points, but for me when i watch proffesisonal sports, i have played them previously like you and you see just how good these guys are. the leap from school to club is emmense and the leap from club to international/top is twice as much and you see the results of hours and hours, days and days of training flow out into quality.

obviously i dont understand watching small teams with nobodies in. but i watch sports for what people achieve and what they can do and what I could never do.

back to thread - no i wont be watching it as i cant stand the start - stop play in american football.
will be watching 24 probably

tony286 02-04-2007 12:55 PM

Im not it bores the shit out of me

Peaches 02-04-2007 12:58 PM

I used to watch it for the commercials, but now you can find the commercials online the next day.

We're going to dinner and coming home to watch movies (only two playing at the local theater and both suck). Standard for Superbowl Sunday these days.

I have to say the grocery store was PACKED last night. 4 lines open and that's a lot for my little town. I'm sure the Sprawlmart was a mess.

Basic_man 02-04-2007 12:59 PM

Who cares about the superbowl anyway?

JD 02-04-2007 03:26 PM

Mr Pheer 02-04-2007 03:30 PM

I may watch a few minutes of it but just because i have HDTV

I'll probably be bored after 10 minutes

So then you don't watch movies? TV shows? You don't listen to music or go to concerts? You don't appreciate art of any sort? You don't read books?

Sports are entertaining. They provide entertainment for people. Excitement, fun with friends, a good reason to get together and enjoy the weekend, something to cheer for and rally behind, childhood tradition, etc, etc, and etc.

I never got into hockey or soccer, but I can sure appreciate how people get into the game. I would love to go to a big soccer game in Europe or Asia or South Africa... soccer fans go fucking crazy. Its awesome.

x-zoom 02-04-2007 03:33 PM

I knew it is on but I'm not watching; not my kind of sports

PGR 02-04-2007 04:13 PM

Fuck.. This means there isn't gonna be a new episode of Family Guy.

I might tune in at half time to watch the purple midget

bausch 02-04-2007 04:18 PM

I can't stand football. I'd much rather watch something interesting like "The Real Housewives of Orange County" on Bravo.

EscortBiz 02-04-2007 04:22 PM

could care less

Jim_Gunn 02-04-2007 08:40 PM

I downloaded and watched last night's UFC 67 show instead. More entertaining for me.

Pornwolf 02-04-2007 10:22 PM

Rochard, I agree with you 110%. I don't understand watching someone else play something. I'd rather play, if not then it has nothing to do with me.

Now, if I start to become like Boneprone and put big money on every game then things might be a bit more interesting.

Mr Pheer 02-04-2007 10:38 PM

I watched the opening kickoff return touchdown, and that was it

scouser 02-04-2007 11:16 PM

nope i won't/didn't.
