anybody have dish network... how do you get local HD channels?
So i got a 65" HD tv and the dish network HD dish and reciever with DVR and the HD channels are awesome.
But i dont get my local HD channels, they said i needed an antenna. So I drive my happy ass down to bestbuy and get this funny looking $70 HD antenna and connect it to the antenna port on the dish network reciever. Then i go into the menu and scan for local channels... and it doesnt find anything. can someone help? what am i doing wrong? |
Just a guess, but switch the component input on your TV. Should be a menu.

I suppose there's a chance there are no HD signals being broadcast within range in your area.
Also, the HDTV antenna is just a regular antenna that they label HDTV and markup about 200%. Any normal TV antenna that can pick up UHF and VHF should work |
Also, most people report better results with outdoor antennas. Not sure what you are using.

i dont know what i did but now i cant see a fucking thing on my tv
thats ok i got better shit to do that watch a fuckin tv anyway |
I've got Dish and an HDTV. I don't have the HDTV sat receiver though. Does it have an over-the-air decoder for HD built in?
My TV has it already, so I just plug rabbit ears in when I want to get local channels in HD. (We only have NBC/PBS.) |
