Google's "I'm feeling lucky" - past its prime?
 

It worked well in 2000 but these days it's probably not even worth trying. However, if they remove it then that may be seen as admitting their results are less likely to be on the mark.

google said that it rarely gets used but was on of the unique features that helped google grow.

Never used it. I like to have a multitude of results.

I feel lucky when I get a google hit without paying for it !

I never used the "I feel lucky" feature. You're lucky if you get a relevant search as it is...

Useless imho

never used it so I can't really give a comment on it....think it's pretty useless; why go to a SE and let it choose for you?!

your missing the point, its a uique feature that may well be useless, but everyone knew about it, thus getting googles name out there in the early years.

I think at this point it is more tradition

you do realize that it just takes you to the #1 listing for that search term, right?

maybe they can replace it with "I feel like getting spyware" or "I feel like seeing google adwords sites", or the always popular "I feel like seeing spam".
