All I'm reading is about how there are "industry players" that support the .xxx yet no industry players have come forward to express their opinions. The few people who claim to know the names of these individuals - are to chicken to reveal the names.

So, I'd like to give these "industry players" an opportunity to grow a pair of balls and reveal themselves in this thread and explain to everyone why they support this. Any industry players wanna come forward today and let themselves be known? Who has the balls to be the first one to admit that they support the .xxx?

We will find out sooner or later and if it's later - that'll make you look pretty pathetic. So, might as well just come out now and admit that you support .xxx.

MaDalton 02-03-2007 12:41 PM

i support it when i can continue running pornsites with .com domains while the rest can't :Graucho

DWB 02-03-2007 01:10 PM

Few people in this industry have a pair of balls, and we all know this. The guys who do have balls get flamed for talking shit, causing problems and spreading rumors.

I hate to say it, but this industry deserves what ever ass fucking is coming.

I do not support .XXX.

mikeyddddd 02-03-2007 01:14 PM

Mr Lensman supported it at one time. What's the latest opinion from him?

Juicy D. Links 02-03-2007 01:20 PM

Juicy, if you know who the players are - maybe you know why they support .xxx. Care to share?

Chio 02-03-2007 01:22 PM

I don't support it. However I *do* think that regardless of whether you support it or not, you should be planning for it.

Rather than worry about who does or doesn't support .xxx start asking yourself what do I need to be doing to minimize the potential problems? and maximize potential benefits?

Being able to foresee how your business is affected by new legislation or whatever is going to benefit you much more than knowing what Joe Blow is doing/thinking.

it all boils down to the "$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$" simple as that .....

alot of small people will dissapear and major players and midsize will remain...

boils down to the good ole greed , and money.... some might say this is greed or whatever but some might say it is what you gotta do in business in general....

for myself , i dont support it but i have good feeling it will go through and really change this industry around.

Interesting Juicy - thanks!

This is pretty much what everybody has been saying - that it has everything to do with making money and nothing to do with protecting kids. And I agree - it'll be very interesting when the names of these major players finally come to light. BIG DRAMA for sure :thumbsup

Yes...it's a shame that those who claim to know the names won't post them but it's more of a shame that those who are behind the .xxx are too chickenshit to let themselves be known. :thumbsup

BlackCrayon 02-03-2007 02:25 PM

the rich get richer..or deader.

tony286 02-03-2007 02:31 PM

It also shows you they must know they are not doing the right thing or being forth coming wouldn't be a problem. The sad reality is if they did come forward, nothing would happen. ibill and acacia came go to shows and nothing happened, so I think anyone else would be fine lol

This is interesting and very true. If the "big players" supporting .xxx thought that they were doing the right thing - they would come forward and let themselves be known. The fact that none of them are willing to do that - well, it speaks volumes about who they are as people and as businessmen. Eventually their names will be revealed and it will be interesting to see if there is any retaliation against them and/or their companies. It must suck to be in their shoes....

The advantage of insider access to premium domains will make insider stock trading look legal.

DeanCapture 02-03-2007 04:10 PM

So...no industry leaders pushing .xxx have the balls to post in this thread? :anon

Why am I not surprised :1orglaugh

This has been mentioned frequently as being a "plus" for the big players, but I really don't get it.

If the small players ain't making shit anyway, what's the payoff in pushing them out into the street?

Redistributing wealth, or slicing the pie between fewer participants. If one small webmaster makes $100/week, on average, but there's a shitload of small webmasters, the big fish will end up with much more when those small ones aren't around to chip away at their profits anymore.

If we get to keep our .com, .net and what ever other domain names, then im for .xxx

just goes to show what scum they are. if it wasn't for affiliates most programs wouldn't be near what they are but now that they are big and can buy traffic or generate it themselves they want to stab in the back the very people who helped the get to the top. oh well, they'll get theirs in the end. theyt might have another pile of money but with any luck they will miserable lonely piece of shit fuck that no one likes (except for their money).

I keep reading and hearing reports of indictments for "conspiracy" in all kinds of prosecutions in non-adult matters, and since .xxx will apparently involve some folks losing money, might not what you mentioned above be federally indictable in a conspiracy vein---if the feds can't get folks for obscenity, could they go after adult entertainment individuals/"insiders" for their roles in the ongoing .xxx crap?

If so, I wouldn't wanna be one of those folks no matter how many favors or money is involved! When Bubba the cell mate is passing conspiracy prisoners around for anal use by his friends, it could make one wish they hadn't been involved???

Opinions?

The Phuket Gathering, Pictures from F.U.B.A.R.

Every once in a while a new show comes along that is different from the rest. Not different just for the sake of being different, but a genuinely feel good event in a great setting. Well I think, I have just discovered the newest one ! Mayor, his Crew and all the sponsors came up with a total home run on this one. Just got home and I cant wait to go back ;) K, I'll stop rambling ;), check out the pics.

Affiliates have only themselves to blame, honestly. The big guys got big not because they cunningly used affiliates to enrich themselves, but because affiliates LET THEM do so. The smart affiliates became sponsors themselves and now are driving traffic to their own sites. The ones thinking that status quo would be preserved forever are the ones now risking to be eliminated. It's simple, really. Either evolve or disappear.

so every affiliate should be come a program owner or disappear? give me a break man. many people are happy with just being affiliates but that aside if every affiliate had a program it would be a much bigger threat and much more competition. things may change but for every chief, you need some indians for lack of a better expression.

Yep, can't have too many chiefs and not enough indians, that's for sure. However, I never stated that successful affiliates started their own programs (although many did). I said the smart affiliates became sponsors themselves, as in mostly THEIR OWN sponsors. There are tons of privately operated paysites around, even if you may only know the ones that the high-profile sponsors like to plaster across the boards. Those paysites are promoted via traffic generated by their operators and in some cases also a few hand-picked affiliates.

Now, to your statement about many people being happy with just being affiliates, it is true. But that in itself will not guarantee the long-term existance of affiliates. Look at all the paid spots on various high-traffic sites, fewer and fewer affiliates can afford to buy them and make a profit, simply because the sponsors themselves are buying them up. Sponsors make a bigger profit on those listings (no 50%+ paid to the affiliate) so they can afford to drive up the prices. Should every affiliate disappear unless they become paysite owners? No, they shouldn't, but that doesn't mean that it will not happen. :winkwink:

well i guess time will tell. i think there will always be room for affiliates in some form or another, be it invite only or whatever not many people are gonna say no to 30-50 signups/day by a handful of affiliates. i plan on opening some paysites in the next 6 months to one year though im kind of put off by xxx. makes things seem unstable and in the air until we know what is really gonna happen. not sure i want to invest 30-50k at a time like this but who knows what the future will hold. people have been saying affiliates are going the way of the dodo for years now but programs are still fighting to gain as many as they can.

That's for sure, but it may not be in the form we're familiar with currently.

Because there's lots more programs today and the profit per affiliate is getting smaller, thus the need to have more of them. Economies of scale. :)
