IE 7 Issues with wordpress

Ever since I upgraded my browser to IE7 I'm having problems with wordpress's WYSIWYG editor.
I'm pretty sure this is a security setting in the browser that isn't allowing the wordpress editor to display properly.

Anyone know what setting needs to be changed and how to do it?

Thanks

i've had this problem on a few of my blogs and i know it wasn't a browser issue because one day it was working and then it just stopped displaying and all that was there was the raw editor, no Tiny MCE WYSIWG editor, i tried replacing these files on the server with no avail.

if you do a search on the wordpress support forums you'll see that there are more than a handful of people with the same issue. try logging into your WP admin using firefox to determine whether or not it's a browser issue.

the tiny mce wysiwg editor should still display in FF if it's a browser issue if not then it's something with the WP install.

Right, the reason I know it's a browser issue is because the editor displays properly in Firefox.

I'd just like to fix IE because that's what I use for everything else really. Firefox is nice but it's just too slow.

Under the users tab you should see an option check box (at the bottom) to "Use the visual rich editor when writing"

Uncheck that and save.

i hate using the rich editor, i always disable it.

i'm looking but everything i seem to read about TinyMCE and IE7 seems to be negative. Whether it's the buttons not showing or the editor itself not showing theirs some incompatibility issues going on with IE7 and TinyMCE.

that will disable the WYSIWG editor if thats what you want to do, do what chio said otherwise you may have to use FF for now to use the WYSIWG editor.

i'm seeing the same crap on the wordpress forums i'm suprised they haven't patched this issue yet.

oops you're right. I read it too fast and thought he was asking how to disable that setting.

I'm not sure what in ie7 is causing the problem or how to disable it. Like fris I disable the wysiwyg editor on every blog. Sorry about that.
