In the last 3 weeks we only had a single good day with normal sales.. the rest is about 40-60% of normal.. and it's every single sponsor which has stopped converting..

Our traffic is the same as usual.. our servers is running without problems...

Affiliates.. what do you see?

the last 10 days of January had a 30% lower than average ratio.

Can any paysite owners agree to these lower numbers?

I did decent when it came to sending traffic to sponsors in January. Two of the weeks in january were slow on the paysite side.

The program owners have got to recoup the cost of all the cheesecakes and/ or hampers they bought for affiliates over Christmas.

Since about the 20th of Jan it has sucked. pretty early to read feb.

My affiliate revenue was down about 30% for the last 10 days or so of February. It's started to pick up again, but although people have now been paid, many won't have got round to paying credit card bills yet.

Yep, the past weeks are 40/50% less than usual.. same traffic numbers though.. just less sales.. odd

Sales are good so far this year, but everyone got their credit card bills this week from the holidays and I can see sales going down for that reason.

Sales are really slow and decreased exactly in the last 10/15 days ... Had a really nice 1 of feb, but yesterday and today so far are not beind good at all ... Hope it gets better during the next 10 days cause i would hate having to drop this relative consistent programs i'm pushing right now :P

Sales were down for me in January for me with my own sites and sites I send traffic to. Its still too early to tell what February is going to be like. :2 cents:

Exact same here. January was to be a record month for me but as of the 20th it completely died on me. I had server problems as well tho which didn't help.

Servers are all fixed up now, traffic is much higher so hopefully the sales will come back.

My personal sales had a dip mid-January, but it's been okay since then. I had a record day around the 25th, not positive on the date.

I thought it was just me, but looks like it's a trend.

its the same as retail, people get their xmas christmas bills in january, so they dont have $ to spend on porn for once. it'll pick back up in a month or so

Your story is almost exactly the same as mine. It may have been last Saturday or the one before that sales were awesome, but other than that its sucked balls. Looking back on last year January had a 24% drop-off, allied to abysmal exchange rates on the dollar, its been quite tough :(

It def has to do with people not having the money or people being more careful about their spending.

Yeah its normal that when you have slow days or weeks you want to blame everyone, the sponsor, hosting, billing, global warming etc but when you notice people joining the trial option more and notice more people emailing you “site is great please make sure im canceled I cant afford another month now” (something in those lines) that’s tells you right there they have financial issues, but then you see an increase in check and 900 number signups = cards are maxed.

You know I am involved not just promoting one site but many different sites and speak to a range of program owners everyone is seeing this slowdown but so many fear telling the truth on a board because “oh shit they wont join my affiliate program” or even worse some are coming to a board and lying by saying “our best month yet” (yeah if you started this month), even in mainstream this month has been slower.

So just hang in there don’t start jumping from program to program because its slow just wait it out it will all be good.

I was around 500/day until the 20th, then it just hit a wall and went to 150/day

Same shit here too. Scary shit. Is anyone aware of any other potential problems besides people being broke from the holidays? This is not good at all. My traffic is the same if not better but sales are so shitty.

I see alot of people saying it's the same thing this time every year.. maybe thats why I can't understand it.. because the four years I've been in this business we've never seen this decrease in late january... maybe we've just joined the club now :)

January was my best month ever again. February looks like it might crush January which is promissing since it has less days.
I have to admit I still see sales rising month in month out though.

Thats weird my traffic went up but my sales are down.

The other day CNN reported that the savings rate for 2006 was the lowest it's been in 74 years. People saved an average of -1%, which means they even borrowed from their savings in order to spend more money. What was 74 years ago? Oh yeah.. the Depression.

I'm foreseeing a bit of belt tightening in the next little while when those bills come due.
