Trouble with Quickbuck?

Hi guys!
Is this normal? I cannot believe this?!?!? :321GFY
Been promoting this program for more than a year and now...now...I see this:

Attention: Your account is active but your identity has not been verified.
Until your identity is verified your payments will be held.

Click here to learn how to quickly verify your identity

So either I sent a copy of my passport or I do not get payed.
Is this legal or what? I have had enough of the programs with the tricks...or am I wrong? I do not want to sent every affiliate program my passport details...do you have the same problem with other programs, because this is the only sponsor I have that asks me for identity.
I think I will stop promoting now, because emails are not answered as well...what do ya think? :helpme

Jace 02-03-2007 04:04 AM

LOL...wow, they want to verify you are who you say you are and that you are legit, and you complain?

imagine if programs didn't do this, all the cheaters and scammers would flock to them in a heartbeat and get the program shut down in months

Gary - AWP 02-03-2007 04:06 AM

I am working with them for a year...they should ask for this before I join, donīt you think?

glad2beme 02-03-2007 04:07 AM

its one of them fraud protection shit that they implement ... i'm not sure if its legal, i'm assuming it is, coz a lot of other programs are doing the same ...

I am pretty sure it is set to activate after you reach a certain payout level

Gary - AWP 02-03-2007 04:14 AM

Well, how about the protection of my identity or personal details?
When you know where it is stored and no one can get to it, I can understand the fraud issue and you do not want to sponsor the bad guys...
On the other end I donīt want to just give my identity to just every webmaster program...then I can ask them the same...to be sure that they are the owners of the program...
I will promote a webmaster program, but please before that show me a copy of your ID, I could be promoting the wrong people...where is the end??? :error

um, welcome to the world of contract labor, to work you need to give your employer details about yourself...dont' like it? find another way to make money where they don't need to know who is working for them

btw, I am sure if you ask for their id's they would give them to you, they are a very open company and have nothing to hide, obviously unlike you

Gary - AWP 02-03-2007 04:16 AM

I a contract you know upfront, before you sign it dear :winkwink:

Jace 02-03-2007 04:16 AM

also, let me get this straight, you are comfortable with them sending you thousands of dollars, and you trust them to do that, but you don't trust them with your information?

Gary - AWP 02-03-2007 04:17 AM

Perhaps you should read what I said before?

bizarredollars 02-03-2007 04:20 AM

It was no trouble at all to get verified, I just emailed them a scan of my passport, got an email back within a few minutes saying I was verified. Not a big deal at all.. Can't blame them at all for wanting to keep fraudsters out.

Gary - AWP 02-03-2007 04:20 AM

Perhaps an idea to open up some protection for the programs to ensure the webmasters identity to be confirmed to them, I understand the need of that!

the people that complain about this process are the ones I have to worry about....makes you wonder why they get upset that they have to verify they are real people after a company sends them thousands of dollars

Gary - AWP 02-03-2007 04:27 AM

Do yo actually use your brain? As I said before that is not the problem :error
There must be a protection for the programs and as I said before there is no problem for me with this. But since there are more programs there should be a way without this, with the identity of the webmaster confirmed for the company as well. So they can check the ID. But again, it works the other way around as well.

So because I don't feel comfortable sending a scan of my passport - that makes me a scammer? :error

Personally i'd like to know what difference sending in a scan of my passport details would make. I could quite easily scan then photoshop any passport to be me. How is that 'verification'??

In this day and age and especially in this industry, it's quite natural to feel very uncomfortable about sending copies of your passport to people.

how easy would it be for a minnor to promote a program and get paid without having to prove they are atleast of legal age.

I have seen it lots in the past,

I started promoting adult sites when i was 16 and made a killing, I am now of legal age to do so 2 years later :)

ps, this is not my statement, just what i have seen in the past.

no shit man, I am a professional, period, and if a large company is sending me money I would expect no less than them wanting to verify my identity

if you can't trust them with that identification, then what are you doing promoting them?

Hasn't the heroin trade from afghanistan been bigger then ever?

bausch 02-18-2007 08:07 PM

Not everyone has a passport, I only have a CA drivers license, and a SSN, and a resident alien card. I don't travel so I never had a need to get one.

Isn't a passport only for travelling?
