God Save the Queen! Ninety percent of the food she eats comes off the sidewalk! Seriously though... when the Boston "scare" bullshit hit the media I thought it was just a damn joke. Then when I found out they wanted to prosecute people over this shit it was just disgusting. After seeing the images of these "suspicious devices" it took me about 45 seconds to figure out what they were. It was a damn circuit board with LED lights and a four-battery power supply. That's all it was and it should have taken boston officials less than a few minutes to see that the devices were harmless. Instead they tried to tie it in to terrorism. How quaint. QUICK, GO SHOPPING AT WALMART OR THE TEAR-ORE-ISTS WIN!

I think it was a good thing that they "investigated" the 'suspicious' items. It's great that they care enough to listen to their own citizens and checked things out. What is simply fucking retarded is they "alerted the internets". They went overboard. They contacted various media outlets and went out on a manhunt. They were frothing at the mouth to convict whoever did this dastardly crime on felony charges and they wanted them to spend life in prison. Then they found out it was a viral campaign and that was being funded by a large corporation. Right then and there they should have apologized for jumping the gun... but NO.

Sure they looked at the case a bit different after they found out it wasn't just a couple of individuals directly behind it but rather a multi-billion dollar business, but they still are hamming along saying how this was a bomb hoax and that the people behind it should be in prison for ten years (rather than life as they said in the beginning). It was neither a bomb nor a hoax. All it was unique advertising. I don't understand why every other major city that housed the 150+ LED signs managed to go along fine for two weeks with no incidences but somehow Boston thinks these were atomic weapons poised to destroy their fucking city. Maybe it had something to do with the Big Dig. /shrug
