is referrer/toplist cheating considered a TOS violation by hosts/registrars?

Some Turkish cunt is hitting my refferal lists with a shitpile of junk hits to fill my top refferals list with redirect links to his AFF bannerfarm. Is this a TOS violation by most standards? I'm firing off some emails now to see what can be done, just curious...

no different then people who cheat on trades - and lots do that

he's not cheating the sponser - he's cheating you - it's really not the sponser's issue, it's your issue

What Sleazy said, its a webmaster to webmaster dispute, the sponsor isn't involved in my opinion.

Sleazy hit the nail right on the head :thumbsup

this happens to me ALL the time

all you can do is boot them off your list and blacklist them :2 cents:

not so much concerned about the sponsors, i realize fully that AFF doesn't give a fuck what techniques are used to promote their program, so it would be useless to hit them. i'm interested in going after his hosting. i fired off a few emails based on what i saw in the whois for his domains. it can't hurt my situation any.

Absolutly nothing their host can or will do.
The only thing you can do is blacklist his domains so he cant sign up for the trades.

Their is no TOS ( at a host ) that says you cant redirect a domain to a sponsor.

SleazyDream 02-02-2007 05:58 PM

how does this come back to AFF?

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 02-02-2007 06:01 PM
