Wordpress subdomain categories

I want categories to be on subdomains.
so instead of:
www.site.com/category1/
www.site.com/category2/
etc'...

I will have:
category1.site.com/
category2.site.com/
etc'...

and of course still only need one Wordpress install on the site.com root directory.

I've searched google and found very few plugins that seem to have many bugs reported. If anyone knows of such plugin that works fine, I'd love to hear about it... :)

Well set up wildcards and it should be done automatically, however the link structure in wp will need to be rewritten.

I'm guessing you are trying to set up nicheblogs that are considered as unique domains by google. WPMU is a much better option for that.
