How good is the quality of your broadband?

Which ISP do you use and how good/stable is it? We have 10mbit Charter cable and 10mbit Bellsouth DSL and they both SUCK  There's really bad latency and random downtime. We're really fed up with it all.

I think I read somewhere that the US ranks like 18th in the world as far as internet providers go. Ugh, so frustrating :Oh crap

martinsc 01-31-2007 10:52 PM

We have charter 10mbit and it sucks, downtown we had comcast it was way better.

Sly 01-31-2007 10:54 PM

I have Cox. No idea on the speed. Its been quite a while since I've had any problems.

Watch, tomorrow will blow.

EBORG9 01-31-2007 10:55 PM

I am on the West Coast, I have Cox, and it's pretty good, I don't have any down time. I had Sprint DSL once, it just ain't the same.
Besides...the name is COX!
I just did a Bandwidth Test:

2.9 megabits per second
Communications 2.9 megabits per second
Storage 359.3 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 2.9 seconds
Subjective rating Great

Not lightning but not bad.

Didn't you used to live in NY? Opt Online, 30MBPS about $35/mo. Fricken awesome.

Jace 01-31-2007 10:57 PM

comcast here, solid and stable for me

Bods4Mods 01-31-2007 10:57 PM

I have RR Business line at my house. Very happy with it, especially since the repair time is very fast if something goes wrong.

We did live in NY, then last June we moved down to Atlanta. HUGE mistake!! :1orglaugh I can't wait to be back north.

I would love to get Verizon FIOS

spasmo 01-31-2007 11:01 PM

Comcast 8mbps down, but only 768kbps up. Solid for the most part (an outage every now and again), and it's certainly fast when you need to download shit NOW.

:thumbsup
