Laptop Question

My Laptop has just passed its 2 year birthday, and the warranty just went up. My battery has been dying about a half an hour after i take it out of the outlet, but when I got it, it lasted several hours. I took it to Best Buy to get worked on right before Christmas so I could get in before the warranty expired, and it worked fine, but now that I got it back, the battery has been messed up.

Any suggestions? I tried draining it all the way out, but it isn't working.

Thanks.:Oh crap

Time for a new battery. Unfortunately they don't last forever.

some of the older batteries suck. I cant remember the type they are call, like nickle metal or something, but they have "memory" and last longer.

what happens is when you have a full battery and let it go down only 75% and then recharge and do it over and over, the battery then thinks 75% is "empty" and over time blows the life of it.

batterys have to be replaced every few years depending on use. my sony laptop lasts for like 40 minutes if im lucky, and the dell lasts 2 hours

Thanks guys, I guess I can deal with it for a little bit longer till I get enough cash. Sad thing is I use my Laptop more than my Desktop cause my Desktop is way slower.

@bossku69 - Yeah, your the 2nd person to say that your Dell battery is works fine. I read it somewhere else. But I hate dells and I will never buy a Dell again, ast least not a desktop. I think I'm going to switch to HP..

Thanks again guys.

batteries are the first thing to go, which is why they're not covered under most warrantys...
