Dedicated Hosting - Who Has Best Bandwidth?

Best bandwidth meaning overall best response times, connectivity, % capacity free, etc.?

Don't simply say "THESE GUYS ROCK"... I know who are known and who aren't, just wondering what people's experience show with higher volumes of traffic.

Thanks

TurboAngel 01-31-2007 10:15 AM

Already have a server with them though I've never tried heavy loads. Perhaps I should. :) Thanks for the comment.

Sorry, I should have used proper terminology, didn't mean resource loads.. just high bandwidth usage, etc....

I have 8 servers doing about 500 megs at www.techiemedia.com These old school guys rock to the nth degree. They have a few options for BW which is totally cool. I keep all my front end stuff on pure level3 at decent prices, then I have my hi bandwidth media servers on their "Value" network which is awesome (NO COGENT) but very affordable. Either way you go these guys are solid and a great company to work with, IMO..:2 cents:

We have experience building scalable clusters that can support several Gbps (Thousands of Mega Bits) and grow even bigger if necessary.

I'd be happy to setup a conference call with one of our lead engineers to discuss how one of our clusters can solve your load problem.

I'll hit you up on ICQ.

Very easy, not one host on here even comes close to TechieMedia when it comes to capacity, latency and overall awesome service. Jim and Wayne run a really really tight ship and if i didnt have my own hosting company i would host with them. I think they are one of the largest level3 users on the east coast and host alot of the largest sites on the web. If you want the best (not the cheapest) go with their all level3 network.

I also recommend Injected Networks, Rob hosts some huge companies and he eats, sleeps and breaths hosting. Clickman has been in the business longer than 90% of the companies out there

Nysus 01-31-2007 08:56 PM

Lots of options eh.. will be fun continuing to contact everyone.

We had nothing but problems with them.

Ended up at ISPrime and ... wow. We pay for it but it sure is up there with nationalnet at the top of the chart.

chaze 02-06-2007 08:00 PM

we where rated faster then 92% of the internet by Alexa and we pay top dollar for our bandwidth even there is many much lower priced options. We only use the near highest quality providers in our blend.

Brad Mitchell 02-07-2007 12:03 AM

No one carrier has the "best" bandwidth. The best hosting solution, the absolute best bandwidth product, is an intelligent blend of a great many carriers. Simple BGP4 as so many of my competitors market is worth shit - it means nothing. It does nothing to protect a hosted customer whose traffic might be sent out over network A and have problems 2 or 10 hops later. Problems meaning congestion, packet loss or even non-delivery of packets. Every network has good assets and bad assets, excellent routes and congested and non-working routes.

We have invested huge money in equipment that makes up to 50,000 route changes every two hours between our 5 carriers, 2 peering connections and 9 gigabit of connectivity. Now that we are finally moved to our new datacenter, arguably the finest in North America, I'm not going to say that we have the "best" network yet.. because we are still growing it. However, I am confident that it is among the finest and most resiliant and will eventually get to a point of being nearly unmatched.

I am very happy to discuss further if anyone is interested in discussing network topology and carrier selection. By in large, hosting customers perception of specific networks, their design and value is completely inaccurate.

Cheers,

Brad

Very well said Brad! :thumbsup

Over here at Splitinfinity we have Level 3, Cox, Time Warner, ATT, Cogent, Yipes, XO and more, all blended together through a route science box that keeps our at its best connection possible. I will not say we are the best because as Brad said earlier no one is the best. We have high quility bandwidth and we have support on site at all times.

Good luck finding the right host.

reynold 02-07-2007 01:06 AM

ISPrime, perhaps.......
