IPod Video for members areas...are you using them?
 

Who is using ipod videos for members areas, and if so, are they popular enough to worry about?

We just started doing that for our new site facepounders.com (also trailers on the outside).

Can't really tell you anything about the results yet.

I have been thinking about that, in fact I already converted serveral videos, but first I wanted to make a poll in my member area to know how many people have an Ipod and if they would be interested on watching suck conent in a Ipod.. I never did the poll!

I too would like to see some stats on if its really worth the hassle.

we tried it on an older paysite like 6 months ago and got no response...not one ipod video downloaded

Different format types make for good SE bait, even if surfers aren't using it yet.

What about other types, like PSP videos, or any other portable device.

We posted a poll in our old site and response was pretty small, about 5% wanted them. Now on the new site we went ahead and are encoding all videos as mp4's just to say we have it. Time will tell if it was worth the effort.

We have them for all our sites, and they're not used by a large portion of members. Like any extra it adds to the overall experience of the site.

aren't psp using mp4 just like ipod?
