GAYVN Awards 2007 (hosted by Kathy Griffin)
Talented comic Kathy Griffin, star of Bravo Cable Network's reality show My Life on the D-List, will host the gay adult entertainment industry's biggest night of the year, the 2007 GAYVN Awards ceremony on Feb. 24 at the landmark Castro Theatre in San Francisco.
A stand-up comedian, Griffin is probably best known for her four-year stint on the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan as Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' acerbic colleague. She has supplied voices for characters in several animated series, including Dilbert and The Simpsons, and had a dual role on the X Files TV series.
Her Bravo reality show, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, debuted in 2005 and has been renewed for a third season. The all-new eclectic mix of adventures chronicling Griffin's latest indignities unfolds over six episodes, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
"I'm thrilled that 'my gays' have asked me to join them for their big event," Griffin, known for her rapid fire humor, said. "I can't wait to skewer my favorites."
Excerpts from the show will be used as part of Griffin's Bravo show to be aired on Bravo Television Network.
"Kathy is going to make the 2007 GAYVN Awards show more fun than ever," said Chad Beecher, vice president, AVN Business Relations. "Sarcastic comments just tumble off her lips. She'll have us all rolling in the aisles."
Operated by AVN Media Network, the GAYVN Awards honor outstanding movies and the talented individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the gay adult entertainment industry.
