Man Leaves Contacts in for a Year ---They Fuse onto Eyeball
 

A 40-year-old Chinese man only known as Liu had contact lenses he wore for a year straight surgically removed because they grew into his eyes. He said that they proved difficult to take out, and just used eye drops when they bothered him.

When his vision started to go downhill recently, he decided to put in another pair on top of the old set. Said Liu, "I put a pair of used disposal contact lenses over the other two pairs in my eyes. By then, I was wearing three pairs of lenses."

When the third pair didn't help - and his eyes suffered a bad reaction the following day - he finally decided to see a doctor.

when i lived in ny, i left mine in for 3-5 months at a time. during a four year period i never not had contacts on -- even while sleeping. my eye doctor made me sign a waver releasing her from liablity, lol

i am better now. i take them out a night ;) it's so dry her in vegas i have to!

I wear the night and days for 30-35 days at a time, never taking them out for that time, but they are approved for 30 days.

I use daily disposables so i dont have to worry, but even if i was using other types i would never leave them in thats just fucked. Your eyes need to breathe properly.

I wear 2 week disposables, I've always been relatively poor so got in the habit of stretching the time out. Usually wear them for a month or as long as I can until they fall out pretty much, but without taking them off at night. Doctors always complain saying my eye sight is going to get worse and I'll get some eye problems from doing that, but I've been doing that for about 7 years now and they still can't find anything wrong with my eyes, actually they've slowed down in their deterioration.

I've wondered before if it was possible for contacts to become fused onto your eyes though...interesting, poor guy.

before I got lasik I would leave mine in for months at a time, i rarely ever used solution or anything...never had any issues

I use the daily disposables, and throw them out every day. You gotta give your eyes a chance to rest without the abrasions of the lenses rubbing against your eyes while you sleep.

im supposed to wear contacts but im too much of a pussy to stick something in my eyeball.

i wear daily contacts but i'm so lazy i usually take them out about every week but i better just follow the freakin' daily rule i suppose. crazy story about that dude.

i would like to let u ppl know that...

when i never not had contacts in during a 4yr period, my eye surface became starved for oxygen. blood vessels begain growing over my pupil area. now if one breaks, then i will be bloodshot over my vision area.
