What can you do if someone gave you a cheque and it bounced?

I got a cheque from one company(non adult) and it bounced.
What can I do to get my money back in case they refuse to give me cash or another cheque?

Not much.. however it might help your lawyer to build a case
if the company decides not to pay at all for no reason.

Certify the check.

tell them to western union you the funds immediately or you'll kill their execs!

Go to the referring bank and put a lean on their account, unless of course the whole check is fake:(

call the bank that the check is from
and speak to them.. tell them the situation
maybe there is some way to cash the check when there is enough cash in it.

We used to do that when shmucks would buy stuff with their credit card and it got declined.. we kept trying it until they came in and paid..
either way we got our money

Threaten to turn them in to your local court system. Where if you do, I believe they have to repay you plus like $500 in court fees.

Canada may be a different story...

Anyway.. i'm to affraid to have my checks bounced so
i never cash them anyway..

It's just great to have 50 10 feet stacks of checks laying
around and knowing you're a millionair on paper..

If it turns out that your going to eat it, I hope it is not much, I been cheated several times, buy a pass and then cry to their credit card companies, I hate those assholes, so don't feel alone.:mad:

Contact your bank, depending on the amount of the cheque (it may not be worth the charge) but you can have your bank send it in for collection, they send your cheque to the issueing bank and the minute there are enough funds to cover your cheque, the funds are debited and sent to you. It costs approx $ 30.00 CAD to do this so again depending on your cheque amount, it may not be worth it - there is no guarantee that you'll get your money. I think that there is also a law in the States against NSF cheques. If I'm not mistaken this is also considered fraud but I'm not 100%, maybe lawpal can help you with that.
