Student Researcher claims to have cracked Vista's DRM
Alex Ionescu, a software engineering student, claims to have cracked Vista's Protected Media Path and DRM by using a driver signing bypass technique. While full details were not published because of lawsuit concerns, it seems that enough detail is there for others to do the same. His blog post on the subject can be read here.

Some more info about Vista and its content control system. This article discusses several issues, including Vista giving Microsoft the ability to remotely shut down your computer, or any program running on it, to prevent content leaks. Moreover, because Microsoft is going to require hardware vendors to make products according to Vista's specifications, Apple and Linux users might find themselves facing the same problems as Vista users. Some very interesting reading.
And for those of you who want to use Vista's voice command system, you might want to read this article . |
