Wordpress MU - anyone uses it?
http://mu.wordpress.org/
It's basically for running multiple blogs. what I want to know is, which wordpress version is it based on? the Wordpress MU that is available for download is 1.0. the regular Wordpress is 2.1 so does it mean if I install MU I will have an older version of wordpress for each blog, and some plugins might not work? also, for how many blogs would you recommend using Wordpress MU over regular Wordpress installation for each blog seperately? 10 blogs? 30? 200? please share your experience with Wordpress MU... |
I use it and it requires a LOT of hacking to get plugins working, believe me!! But it IS possible. I think you only really need it if you wish to run more than 50 blogs on a single server. Otherwise wp 2.1 is a lot better, in terms of functionality.

i guess i'll stay with wordpress 2.1 :) |
I also use MU and it did require much tweaking just to get basic functionality. WordPress just isn't developing it at the same speed. The plug-ins are hard to work and I doesn't allow for individual blog customization as easily as regular Word PRess does.
Still, short of building your own program, it's one of the best free out of the box solutions for blog hosting. |
grr, double post - website hung up on me...
