I dont know if what they say is true or not, but it seems like it could suck pretty bad if it is true.

Yet I still dont want to go mac at the same time....

Windows Defender has been out for a long fucking time now, it deletes and protects against malicious software

talk about blowing things out of proportion

Just get a Mac, and stop fixing your computer and start using it.

I don't recall the last time I had to fix anything on my computer, 180 days uptime on this desktop right now

the mac/pc debate is OVER, it is all about personal preference these days

Shit I have a box sitting here that has been running 24/7 for over 3 years without a reformat. guess what.... it aint a mac... :winkwink:

My main machine uses Win2k, My other machine uses: http://www.linspire.com/
and Kristin uses a Mac. Win2k is stable as hell in my opinion but since they have stopped supporting it I will soon move over to Linux and probably get a Mac for Graphics.

Everything after win2k is a death trap - Vista will end MS in court over privacy issues. The only thing saving MS is the cost of a MAC, that is where something like linspire might help PC users. FireFox is proof that MS can and will lose market share over its security issues.

yeah, i don't quite get the arguments personally, everything likes what they like and both are equally as good as the other

there was a time when the pc/mac debate was VERY justified, but those days are long gone, people like what they like and will use what they use

As for the article linked at the top, the fine print reveals something very important:

Quote:

Michael Geist holds the Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law.
I don't tend to ask my plumber to explain the electrical work in my house. I certainly don't expect a lawyer to be able to accurately explain the actual workings of Windows Vista. I am sure he can decode the agreements, but I suspect he isn't very good at programming.

just like any other ad-removal software....

I think thats true with some exceptions, depending on what your computer is used for.
