Dover Sole: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microstomus_pacificus Really delicious and Tuna in all forms, especially tuna steaks.

I love salmon as well, unfortunately you often get served those high fat, low taste versions raised in fish farms.

agreed, i love both but I favor Halibut

Mr Pheer 01-29-2007 05:39 PM

I like shellfish much better, but for regular fish my favorites (in order) are:

Salmon, Halibut, Trout, Catfish, Tuna.

I dont really care for the others like Snapper or Orange Roughy, and I cant stand Shark.

Chiliean sea bass is neither from Chili nor a bass :)

http://www.state.gov/g/oes/rls/fs/2002/8989.htm

I love all fish - all depends on the preparation, IMO. There's a sea bass an Asian restaurant in the burbs cooks that has been knocking my socks off for well over 10 years. It's not cheap, but SOOOOO good.

pornguy 01-29-2007 05:50 PM

Shark is really good if you can find a place that knows how to cook it. Same with gator tail.

I like both salt and fresh water bass, as well as flounder. Salmon is great, and white fish is pretty good. and there are just so many.

For those of you cutting out the red meat, and eating more fish, DONT use to much butter.

WiredGuy 01-29-2007 05:51 PM

Scallops, Tuna, Salmon, Eel.
All yummy.
WG

Smurfette 01-29-2007 05:52 PM

I love salmon and cod tongues and cheeks :) Got the freezer full of fresh cod that the man caught this summer.

I agree, hell i don't even have any butter in the fridge.

Many other ways to cook food and avoid that cholesterol

I had some fresh baracuda in Curacao, great tasting fish.

Man, if we are talking sushi: Eel/Salmon/Tuna/Octapus/and whole lot more

mikesouth 01-29-2007 06:16 PM

nothing on earth beats Cobia but you wont find it in restaraunts you have to catch it yourself

its white, not too fleshy but not too soft and has the best flavor going

D 01-29-2007 06:16 PM

Tuna. No Question.

Just give me some wasabi, soy sauce, gari (pickled ginger), maybe some rice, a knife and a fresh tuna fish...

(no heat required)

and I'll never go hungry.

Z 01-29-2007 06:19 PM

Tuna and Salmon for sure...but my far and away favorite is striped bass. Anybody ever eat any? There is nothing like grabbing some off the coast of Montauk or even in the fresh water lakes they were stocked like Lake Lanier in Georgia...a little mango chutney or cilantro, olive oil and garlic.

Damn I'm hungry... ~off to the kitchen~

Why don't restaurants serve it?

Chrome 01-29-2007 06:32 PM

copper river salmon, brook trout, marlin and sturgeon. not necessarily in that order.

I agree on the shark.. it has to be cooked just right or it's almost gag city for me.

Spunky 01-29-2007 06:34 PM

I can eat seafood everyday..I love Salmon

CheeseFrog 01-29-2007 06:37 PM

Salmon and Tuna. When it comes to Tuna, I like "Toro" which is cut from the fatty belly area of the fish and harvested during the colder seasons. Fat = more oils and hence a more pronounced flavor.

niche25 01-29-2007 06:45 PM

Nemo... ?

TSGlider 01-29-2007 07:20 PM

Blackened Catfish

BT 01-29-2007 07:23 PM

Mullet, grunt

DateDoc 01-29-2007 07:26 PM

I always like sea bass but other favs are halibut, rock fish, grouper and escolar.

DateDoc 01-29-2007 07:27 PM

sturgeon is only good if the cook knows what he's doing... best i've ever had is from the caspian, grilled on wood fire with safron + lemon marinade

because it and wahoo and a few others have "gamefish status" meaning that it cant be sold commercially and the only legal way a restaraunt can sell it is if the owner or his employees catch it on rod and reel

Its the best raw as well add pompano to the list for great raw fish

wdsguy 01-29-2007 08:23 PM

tilapia - it has no fishy tastes and soaks up other taste easy.

Vitasoy 01-29-2007 08:28 PM

I like all kinds.. salmon, cod, tuna.

GooSearch 01-29-2007 08:30 PM

salmon and grouper

vidvicious 01-29-2007 08:32 PM

Brunnettes .. But during summer months I like to mix it up with Blondes and redheads

MsWild 01-29-2007 08:45 PM

I like pink Salmon and tuna :)

smack 01-29-2007 08:53 PM

by a wide margin i would have to say chilean sea bass, and it is best oscar style.

my other top choices are tuna steaks, swordfish, and salmon.

i think next to filet mignon, almost every type of seasfood would be my favorite food ;)
