The police department's Sexual Crimes Bureau investigated a tip from a concerned citizen on Dennis Brian Russell.

Detectives said that the unnamed citizen told officials Russell possibly had child pornography on his computer.

"He tells a lot of them that they are model material," Det. John Gaborik, of the SCB, said. "He takes pictures of them in bathing suits, provides them with cell phones and other items."

Members of the SCB went to Russell's photography business and found a 16-year-girl on the scene that said she had a special friendship with Russell.

Police said that the teen girl told them that Russell, 64, established a friendship with her, but that her parents didn't know about it.

A police affidavit provided to NBC 6 said that Russell encouraged the teen to be with him instead of going to school.

The teen also told officials that Russell gave her a cell phone and asked her to call him.

The teen said she was registered at a local high school and that her parents thought she was attending classes daily there but that she would go to Russell's studio instead.

Russell allegedly would pick the girl up from her high school and drive her to his photography studio, where he would take photographs of her in a bikini.

Det. Gaborik said he believes that there are many more victims.

"Based on information we have, he has been seen having many other victims come into his shop," Gaborik said.

Russell posted bond of $5,000 on Monday and was released from jail.

Police ask anyone with information concerning Russell to contact the Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.

I read this, and I am trying to figure out what these 16 year old girls are victims of. Ok, he gets them to skip school, but unless he is taking photos of them naked, and I am sure that they will eventually come up with the evidence to say that he is, they are NOT VICTIMS of anything.

I have a "special friendship" with Shoehorn.

Yeah we all know.

Well it's obvious what his intentions are. What would a jury think about an old grandpa like that taking raunchy photos of underage girls?

Does he shoot porn also? Or does he shoot mainstream type of stuff only?

He did fuck up tho.

I'd hardly consider taking pictures of a 16 year old girl in a bikini "mainstream".

sorry.

You're concentrating too much on the photography. He's not being charged with child pornography or molestation at this point, he's being charged with "10 counts of interfering with child custody."

Obviously, an adult taking a 16 year old (aka child) out of school, to his home, etc. etc. without his parents permission or knowledge is an illegal act, and he's being charged with it.

I agree that he fucked up when he started having the girls skip school, and shit like that. And I believe that in the long run, they will nail him for CP. but There is nothing illegal about taking bikini photos.

He is creepy, and I am sure unsafe, but to arrest him, and go through all this???

Yeah but the reason it's in the news is because of the photography aspect.

Of course... they never appear in magazines... in ads and TV commercials... shit like that

i "could" take a 16 year old girl home, shoot her in a bikini, then topless and then fuck her - and it would be perfectly legal. :2 cents:

it all depends on your local legal system

If you read the title of the article, you will see that "I" and not concnetrating too much on anything. like you said what does the photographer business have to do with being charged for getting the kids to skip school.

Well it would not be as interesting if it were an ice cream sales man. No one would have the term CP pop into thier minds.

But since he is a photographer, then it has to be something worse.
