Usa (Pres) George Bush Asked Brazilian President " Do You have blacks too?" LOL!!!!

Washington - It was Condoleezza Rice, national security advisor, who helped her boss out of the embarassing situation. During a conversation between the two presidents, George W. Bush, 55, (USA) and Fernando Henrique Cardoso, 71, (Brazil), Bush bewildered his colleague with the question "Do you have blacks, too?"

Rice, 47, noticing how astonished the Brazilian was, saved the day by telling Bush "Mr. President, Brazil probably has more blacks than the USA. Some say it's the Country with the most blacks outside Africa." Later, the Brazilian president Cardoso said: regarding Latin America, Bush was still in his "learning phase".

I remember the look on Bush's face when our prime minister told him that we might stop giving the U.S. wood.

I refuse to believe this is true. There is no way in fucking hell that the president of the U.S. would ask such an ignorant question.

It's impossible. Even for Bush

Sad to say, but it is true, and I have read about it on the bbc awhile back.

I usually ignore most of the odd half-truths Massivecocks spends his life trawling up but this is true. If you can't believe he would be that stupid you really need to take a step back and take a proper look at the guy without wearing the stars and stripes filters on your glasses.

We got one better than him though. We have Prince Phillip! The man's taken biggotry and inappropriate remarks and turned them into art forms!

This is from Google, it appears to be some sort of government website in Brazil and it supposedly has the quote. Maybe someone who speaks Portuguese can fill us in:

Here is some German magazine, also from Google:

I wouldn't expect much from the U.S. media, as their corporate owners love Bush.

The media in the U.S. is conservative. If you believe otherwise, then you most likely listen to far too much talk radio. There is the truth, and then there is talk radio. Which one do you believe? :)

On edit: And by the way, talk radio is a big part of the U.S. media.

Yes, compared to say the GuardianUK, the US media as a whole probably could be considered conservative. Something tells me though, that you stand somewhere to left of Castro and the Guardian probably wouldn't even scratch your liberal itch.

Like most Americans, I'm a moderate who leans slightly left. Pro choice, anti death penalty, pro responsible gun ownership, pro environment, etc. The media in the United States has been extremely nice to Bush ever since he got into office. The same media previously spent eight years attacking and trying to bring down Bill Clinton. If that isn't bias, what is?

Edit Note: The only reason I am considered to the left of center at all is because the extremists on the right have moved the center to the right over the last 10 years. What is right and left, liberal and coservative, is always shifting. In the late 90's there were more right wing extremists than left, so the center moved right. There will be a backlash and it will move back eventually and then the cycle will start over again.

Jeez.

Doesn't his administration set down with him and say "ask all your quesitons now," and give him a list of questions so he can sound intelligent and as though he has some intellectual curousity.

That doesn't show how stupid Bush is, that shows his staff is a bunch of morons.

I think what Bush meant in the next sentance was:
"Do you treat them [blacks] like shit, like we do?"
So for Bush it was a save!

Most Americans are moderates who lean slightly left. Look at the last 3 major elections. Moderate Democrats (Clinton, Clinton, and Gore) got the most votes in each of the last 3 presidential elections. Bush was forced to run in 2000 as a middle of the road guy to get close to as many votes as Gore. If he would have tried to push right wing extremism while he was running, he would have never got close to the White House. Even Bush's own political advisors knew that.

As far as the media. Which do you not think is true? The media going after Clinton (remember the bogus impeachment?) or the media being nice to Bush? I'm not sure which one you think isn't true.

I think they have been reasonably good to Bush considering he is a Republican, which to the liberal media elite is a capital offense in and of itself.

As far as Clinton goes, it would have been very difficult for them to ignore the impeachment of the POTUS. Although I am quite sure that if was at all possible, they would have. If Clinton had been a Republican, the media would've fucked him so hard, that he would have been forced to resign, long before Congress even thought about doing anything to him. The truth is, they covered up more shit for Clinton than I would have ever thought possible.

Yes. He's great. But he isn't the head of state of the most powerful country in the world... He's the Prince Consort to a Queen who is only nominally head of state. There is a big difference between a comical aristocratic celebrity with his foot in his mouth, and the Monkey that the Supreme Court put in the Oval Office. :feels-hot

I'm curious as to how you "know" so much about the United States? How many years have you lived here? How involved are you in the United States government and other policies?

To think Talk Radio is a "big part" of the media and dictates what we should all think/believe is pretty naive. Granted, enough people listen and believe to Oprah and Rosie... but just as many, if not more people think Oprah is a complete joke. I've never watched Oprah, but I absolutely can not stand Rosie.

Sure.. Canada beat us in some wars. When Canada was England. (Woo. Giant Empire defeats upstart colony.) Still, you are right that it did happen. Not going to happen again, though, is it?

You are further right that Canada has plenty of history. Isn't their fault that Americans don't get taught about it in school. Canda is a perfectly respectable country, and one of the USs two closest allies and best friends. They have a strong economy and make a good contribution to the world... For the mid-size country they are. The up-side of being smaller than the US, though, is they have less of a chance to draw negative attention.
