Signing an apartment lease, question? I need advise.

Can anyone think of a way around signing a 9 month lease to live in an apartment. I ask this question, because the three roomates I am potentially going to live with are questionable.....any advise, anyone. Please dont recommend saying "simply dont live with anyone." Is there any legal way around this? Any kind of document or paper work I can present. Thanks

More specifically, I dont want to sign a lease to live there.

find a different place that wont make you sign a lease. and really leases aren't that effective anyway you could still walk or come up with some bs excuse

why you would move in with questionable people is beyond me, and i highly doubt you're going to find somewhere that doesnt require a lease.

Leases are required to avoid situations like the one you're in. Shop around, you may be able to find a 6 month lease. Or if you're in a bad rental market you can probably get away with being more demanding.

Don't sign anything if you feel uncomfortable with..find another place

Most lease places do offer a month to month, but they charge a PREMIUM for it. I know places in Orange County, for example, the Irvine Company doesn't make it known, but they charge $500 a month for month to month. Otherwise, I'd rethink who you want to live with....

Yeah pretty much everywhere offers month-to-month at a higher price.

If you wanna leave after signing the lease then leave. You'll loose your deposit though.
