RAVEN RILEY has a message for you !! ( video )

http://myspace.com/_hello__world_ (video )

p.s. this is in no way endorsed by raven riley i merely used her as an exmple in the video .

I call it geovoiceviralvideo :) enjoy..

p.s. i made this tool so you can geo voice watermark any video on the fly with whatever url you want ( you will understand after you watch it , just go see its cool )

keep in mind the geo is not accurate and firefox users might have problems due to firefox's inability to properly stream media

Persignup Qon 01-28-2007 01:28 PM

account deleted?

baddog 01-28-2007 01:28 PM

nothing happening here

baddog 01-28-2007 01:29 PM

must be my FF

SkeetSkeet 01-28-2007 01:33 PM

like how it automatically pulls the URL open in a new window ;) nice touch

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 01:33 PM

p.s. make sure your volume is turned up or you wont hear the message, it may take awhile for the video to load..

I will make a little webform for people to create their own geovoicevideos easily..

for those who want to mess with it yourself simply follow the format in the url below.

-----
the folllowing code will not work its just an example you must use real urls
-----------

Code:

<embed src=http://smokeycash.com/777/www.videosite.com/videourl.wmv~~~yoursite.com/tosendpopuporclick~~~MESSAGE+YOU+WANT+VOICE+TO+SAY+USE+THE+WORD+icity+TO+REPRESENT+GEO+CITY.wmv width=640 height=480>

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 01:36 PM

basically the above code creates a wrapper tht wraps the real video inside the geo voice and the popup and click to whatever site you want.

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 01:37 PM

you can use any type of media in this tool as well . you can insert youtube videos or google videos or pictures or an mp3 etc.

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 01:40 PM

firefox users will most likely not be able to view the example on myspace as myspace formats the video with correct attributes and firefox doesnt understand how to play videos properly unless you give it lame code . ill setup a demo for ff users

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 01:41 PM

firefox users http://ytmnd.webspacemania.com/raven/

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 01:42 PM

it still might not work for all firefox users for the reasons mentioned in the first post but will work for most with proper video plugins

budz 01-28-2007 01:43 PM

works fine for me in firefox

KrisKross 01-28-2007 01:44 PM

Hmmm it doesn't work for me? Is it supposed to say the name of your city in the audio? Maybe it's because I'm in a small town?

:thumbsup i think its a money maker :) i dont see anyone doing geovoice yet for advertising..

The text to speech is easy to catch all but for a more personal approach it wouldnt be too hard to have real voice not text to speech..

PGR 01-28-2007 05:41 PM

Very slick :thumbsup

Martin 01-28-2007 06:04 PM

actually, firefox uses the <object> tags for its videos, as <embed> is an IE tag, thats why it fucks up in firefox, just some food for thought

comeplay 01-28-2007 08:56 PM

works for me in firefox 2.0.0.1 but it says jacksonville which is way off

"thanks for using at&t"

actually your wrong the first code is in an object tag created by myspace :)

With default video plugins firefox wont play certain asx files unless you use ie embed code hence the second code ( that works perfectly fine using <embed> in firefox with windows media player plugin , using the object tag it wont play in firefox unless you have the vlc plugin

Trust me i have tried a zillion ways.

I actually send real people to me videos and test validity so i know what works most effectively and what doesnt.. for firefox mixed filetype asx files the best method is to use <embed>

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 09:50 PM

im open to suggestions though , you learn something new everyday.

Post me your proper firefox code and ill show you people it doesnt work with. I always try to make it work for the most amount of people i can. The problem isnt with the code as thats why many firefox users can see it , its with the plugins that associate themselves with those files. such as windows playlists that other programs take priority even though they cant play them.. Prime example is winamp.. it will try to use winamp to play wmp video files even though it cant actually play them.. it can play audio playlists but not video

aico 01-28-2007 09:53 PM

didn't do anything but play the video, no voice, just camera going click click click... However, I think I heard rain in the background, was the Geo'd for Seattle?

lol it would be fog right now i think.

Must be your plugin.. Are you using quicktime and firefox ?

go to about:plugins in your address bar in firefox and see whats installed

SmokeyTheBear 01-28-2007 09:58 PM

people who see the video with no sound or no link after should remove quicktime from being associated with files it cant properly play like asx wpl wax wma etc

O.K. it works in IE usually it's the other way :1orglaugh

Cool trick but mine says riverside and I'm Huntington Beach, couple hours away.

I would suggest having it transfer the city into the south or northern part of the state.

So it would say Southern California. :2 cents: kewl either way. :thumbsup

Fizzgig 01-29-2007 02:13 AM

It sounded like Stephen Hawking's sister. Not too sexy, but still very clever!

:thumbsup well the geo is just the database . its using an old one.

The voice is at&t , its pretty lame. Ideally you would only use large cities and include real voice, but of course i cant be recording 1000 cities for the demo :) ( and i dont sound like raven riley much )

But the idea is there..

Ross 01-30-2007 06:30 AM

This would be really good for trailers. Then you could automatically take the surfer to the join page.
