fris 01-27-2007 06:41 PM

50 inch for 1200 is pretty decent price

Star 69 01-27-2007 06:42 PM

Get better LCD

baddog 01-27-2007 06:43 PM

HD ready . . . not really familiar with the brand . . . I would check out Costco

Big_Red 01-27-2007 06:43 PM

miss_twisted 01-27-2007 06:49 PM

not a bad price at all... but if i remember correctly plasmas and LCD's dont ship well.

sharp 01-27-2007 06:55 PM

Decent deal, but LCD is way better, IMO.

RRRED 01-27-2007 07:04 PM

I'd be leery of a brand I've never heard of like that. But it looks great!

Dagwolf 01-27-2007 07:05 PM

My LCD shipped just fine; however, it didn't take well to having a pair of pliers tossed at it.
:(

heres a tip that worked for me by accident. Go to your local home theatre store and select a model that is out of stock that is around 4-500 less than the real model you want. This hapened to me by accident but you can phone ahead and check whats in stock. When they tell you its out of stock tell them you are going to go somewhere else. Of course they will try to prevent you from leaving and which point you tell them you'd get the more expensive model if they matched the price of the out of stock item. Most likely they will:thumbsup

chupacabra 01-27-2007 07:28 PM

my dad bought a 47" Vizio LCD at Costco last week for $1650, regular price was $1899 but had a coupon for $250 off... the model you are looking at is a refurb, and if you search for the model no. over at AVSforum you'll see many reports of issues w/ this set, most especially a "buzzing" sound coming out of the speakers depending on brightness setting. i'd pass on this one..

MikeVega 01-27-2007 07:34 PM

sounds good .. I did get a New 42" plasma for $699 no shipping about a month ago from Amazon .. in fact i picked up 2 for that price.

And anyone that says LCD is so much better hasn't done the home work. The older generation plasma maybe but the new ones have improved on any burn issues or long term picture quality issues.

evildick 01-27-2007 07:35 PM

I don't like this part:

Disclosures:
Monitor Grades:
Grade B - Monitor is in Great Condition
Has slight Cosmetic Blemishes, examples of which are (but not limited to):
Slight Scratches in case
Slight Scratches in the screen
Hairline Crack in Case
Dead Pixel (3 or less)
Missing Control Door
Slight imperfections in the AGAS (Anti-Glare, Anti-Static) Coating
etc.

That is a good price though. The newer model Vizio sells for just under $1700 at samsclub, although that is for one with a built-in hd tuner.

It's a brand that's been around but not top of the line .. I wanted them for the playroom and office .. their great for the price.

here they are but they are $899 .. i thought it was $800 ..sorry

>>HERE<<

They also had the Wall Mounts for like $45 .. I haven't seen them for less then $80 around me so i grabbed 2 of those also ..

FreeHugeMovies 01-27-2007 07:59 PM

It's only (720p) which isn't full HD quality

And you can't make that assumption about any of the plasma TVs bc. they haven't been around that long to make a comment like that. Yes, they have improved technology on the plasmas but if the burnout rate is 4-5 years, then we have to wait that long before making decisions about the burn out rates. etc etc

RawAlex 01-27-2007 08:13 PM

A 50 foot plasma? Damn!

I know exactly what your saying but people say things like 6 years and that is way off. The low end estimates ( based on deductive mathematical calculation of phosphor dissipation) are 30,000 hour life span .. This use equates to 18 years for a home owner that watches 3 hours television per day. the new TV's are rated at 60,000 hours.

I'll see if i can find the site i read all this on ... I copied some of the text when i was looking into it but the site has lots of real life info ...not hype by the companies

VeriSexy 01-27-2007 08:46 PM
